Best Roster top to bottom that I can remember

top to bottom? i don't think so. offensively, absolutely.

we need another good draft or two to solidify defensive problems before we can claim anything like this.

Top to bottom includes offense and defense. Yes other rosters have fielded a better defense. But when you look at the team as a whole from "top to bottom" you'd be hard pressed to find a better one.

I never stated we have the best of everything all at once.

our offense is great but our defense and ST are overall poo

2003,2005, and 2008 were much balanced imo

i would actually say that 06 had a better roster as well going into the season... jake coming off a pro bowl, smitty coming off a triple crown, keyshawn, d-will being new... and a great defense

too bad we blew it that year, i was convinced they were going to the SB

Our D was crap LAST Season. Since then, we have added 2 starting DT's......2 Pro Bowl LB's back....a stud LB in Kuechly....an upgrade at Safety.

I think the D will be significantly better than last season......need to see how they perform this season before making a judgement.

Now ST's.....they still suck.

2008 was pretty good as well. Stewart, Williams, Smitty, Moose, Peppers, Beason, Davis (full year)

I still like 2003. 2008 and 2011 offensively were better. D and ST more than makeup for what the 2003 O squad lacked.

2003 actually had ST....the best DL in the NFL. Stud LBs....and a seconday that worked based on league ruled and the front. Tough to argue, top to bottom....we are currently better. We are still set up to get abused by offenses and on ST

Chris Gamble, Charles Johnson, Beason and Kuechly all have pro bowl potential. We have very good depth at linebacker and ends. Norman looks like he has serious potential. Godfrey and Nakumara can be solid. Edwards appears to be a solid run stuffing DT and Fua seems to be coming along fine right behind him. Hardy is solid with potential to be good. That leaves us with a big question mark at 3-tech, but overall the D is going to surprise a lot of you if don't think were going to see massive improvement from last year.

I sure hope so...I got stuck drafting them in my fantasy league today

Nah not really. 2003 was stacked everywhere. For example no one on the team now would start on the d line. Grant an minter then would start now in the secondary. Can't really compare the corners since the rules were so much differen then.
