the hate person gets is too funny in a sad kind of way.

i don't care how well he does his job. we could have and have had better...but that's not the issue. what's pathetic and funny is the amount of energy that people use in trying to attack another person with words...and why? unless this guy has committed crimes against humanity then it's really just stupid. (and not getting news out to fans doesn't count and no he's not defrauding anyone pretending to be a journalist) seriously...trolling that guy? the thing Person needs to do is to be the bigger man...the grown up...and not respond. give those immature trolls who stopped growing up in high school the attention they deserve...nothing.

I don't get that hate on Joe Person. I have seen the beat writers for all the other teams and they are the same. The fact is the fans will always want more and if they don't get it now then everyone must be sucky reporters. But thats not the case. These guys have stories to write, interviews to do, and bosses to report to. It's retarded to blame them for not having news the 1 second after it's released... that's why there are several different options to go to. Is it really gonna hurt you to know the 7th string wide receiver that got cut 1 minute after it happened instead of 5 minutes? Honestly.

And for the record I don't get those that love Anthony Ballard. The guy is on twitter 24/7 and tweets 1000 times a day. Does the guy even have a job? And if he does, when is he doing it? He probably sucks at it himself because he's spending more time begging for followers and tweeting all day.

I'm not gonna lie, Person owned him. That is the most personality that Joe has showed, EVER, and it's awesome. "Cave dwellers," "sweet tattoo," "say something else to make your 20 followers dumber."

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Person is the king of zingers.

As an aside, I think this is a fine illustration of the cons of the internet. What starts off as a joke (Person reporting everything later than other reporters) turns into a serious issue for retards who want to win some internet cool points from people they'll likely never meet. What an idiot.

I joke about Person but it's the same as I joke about myself or crack on my friends. It's in good fun. And I've always suspected that Joe had a sense of humor about some of the late jokes. It's cool as long as you don't get personal, but that's where these idiots crossed the line.

The man is working for a living and no, he may not always break every piece of news first, but he certainly has reported some that others hadn't caught wind of several times, well before anyone else. So what? How shallow have people gotten? He's tweeted me back several times about news and I appreciate that. Is he a perfect beat writer... No. But, who cares? There's other sources to get the news from if you don't like it. Grow up.

Why you shouldn't be on the computer past 1am... "The most personality Joe has shown, EVER."

They tried to gang up on Person and he hit him with a few subtle pot shots!

In all seriousness though, what exactly is accomplished by telling Person he sucks at covering the Panthers? He still receives his paycheck, still gets to go to every game!

The guy tweeting at Joe Person is an immature little prick and is a wannabe reporter like NJPanthersFan or whatever his name was. Joe Person is a terrible reporter that breaks very little and nothing major ever and is consistently one of the slowest reporters out there. Both of these statements are true.

There, is everyone happy now?

    • I mean it's not even like this was his worst game of the season... I'm not done with him by any means but this feels more the norm for him than the exception:/
    • I'd give it a C mainly because of Brooks.  If we just didn't have a 2nd I'd argue B to B+ tbh. Brooks was a bad gamble, tho one that could still pay off long term. Yes XL only has 400 yards but... Look who is throwing him the ball. And I think he isn't a "true #1" but he's been able to consistently get open. Hands definitely need to be cleaned up.  But he should end the year with 500-600 yards. Like you said - Sanders looks great.  Get him a better QB / more time with a QB and I think he's gonna impress. We added a couple rotational players on D that have both made plays and show promise for the future from later rounds. So I'd say, Brooks really hurts this drafts grade. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses over the next 3 years. I've overall really liked Morgan's FA acquisitions, so...
    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
