Just wondering if anyone else was familiar with him or his work? He has a new album coming out in October that he raised money for on Kickstarter as his project independent. I've been a huge fan since I first became aware of him from The Roots cover of his song "The Seed" (The Roots version being "The Seed 2.0").

I also knew he had came out with an independent album back around 2002 entitled "The Headphone Masterpiece," which was incredibly unique as he recorded it in his bedroom on a four-track cassette recorder IIRC. Very lo-fi, but very organic sound. I just don't know how he isn't any bigger than what he is... His lyrics are poignant, he can play the strings off of a guitar and is an excellent multi-instrumentalist, AND he reminds me a lot of Hendrix in some ways.

The amazing thing is, despite his non-major backing and mainstream coverage, he has carved out a nice little following from his live shows and from some forms of media picking up on his amazing music. For example, one of his songs was used in an Axe commercial a few years back and a few others have been featured in movie soundtracks. This upcoming album, "Landing On A Hundred," is coming out almost a full ten years after "The Headphone Masterpiece." It just shows you how jacked up the music/entertainment industry is now that guys like this aren't bigger than what they are.

Anyway, if you haven't heard his stuff, you should check it out... I was always a rap fan first but enjoyed all types of music, but now with three kids, I've seemed to mellow out more and more over the years, lol (although the iPod is still full of my hardcore stuff). But, the more I delved into Headphone Masterpiece, the more and more I liked it, and got it... It's been on heavy rotation lately again...

Thanks for baring with me and hopefully someone will enjoy it.

"Look Good In Leather" was the one featured in an Axe commercial...
