lol if Armanti had a quitter mentality he would have been cut a while ago. he's stuck around because he's a hard worker and isn't a douchebag. shockingly thats not always an easy combination to find among NFL wide receivers. hopefully he'll get another year to develop

I think 3 years in the NFL and 2 years in the same system is plenty of time to see something from the kid. If we try to keep him around to develop another 2 years, the coaching staff is short changing another player that could help this team. Either they believe he can do it now or they don't. That simple I'm afraid.

Well, Marty sounded extremely confident in him, but as someone else said, he wasn't going to go on TV and say "This guy sucks and we're cutting him tomorrow, I'm just letting you know."

I've clowned Armanti, but I was pulling for him to get it together. It's just seemed like an uphill battle.

Obviously he is. Being on PUP means he isn't getting cut, so he has a roster spot.

Not exactly, if they bring him off PUP he would then take a roster spot someone currently would occupy. They would have elect

to give Gettis a roster spot when he comes of PUP.

WR:

  1. Steve Smith
  2. Brandon LaFell
  3. Louis Murphy
  4. Keoloha Pilares
  5. Lamont Bryant
  6. Jared Green
  7. Joe Adams(though he will mainly be used for kick returns. may see him in the backfield more so than at WR)

David Gettis will get in the mix at some point when he is ready. Then Somebody will go to PS or something.

RBs

  1. Dlo Williams
  2. Jonathon Stewart
  3. Tauren Poole

Hopefully Smith can go to practice squad. I'm sure another team would sign him though. Would be great to have him in case somebody went down.

Yes, but my point being, if he wasn't sticking at least for the foreseeable future, they wouldn't have put him on PUP. And by putting him on PUP, it has the domino effect on another roster spot, so his place on the roster affects who will be kept both now and when he comes off the PUP.

WR:

Smith

Lafell

Murphy

Pilares

Adams

Bryant

A. Smith gets the last RB slot. Best #4 RB in the league from what I can tell. I mean, I don't want it to come to this, but if one of the other three face a serious injury, he can jump right in for a snap here or there.

My prediction: WRs: Smith, Lafell, Murphy, Pilares, Adams, Bryant

RBs: Williams, Stewart, Poole

Practice Squad: Green

Gets signed to another team: A. Smith

This...but replace Bryant with Edwards. I don't really like Edwards but he looks better this preseason.

They went back to Bryant 3 consecutive times after that TD.....I think his poor job using his body on those will cost him a shot at making the roster.

See I disagree. Bryant had a nice shot at the throw that was called for PI. Then Clausen threw a low and outside pass on a fade route to a 6'5 receiver. Poor throw by Clausen. Not sure about a 3rd throw that he had a chance at.

He couldn't use his body on the last one, because Jimmy didn't throw it up. He threw it to his black shoulder instead. It's hard to come up with a back shoulder fade when you're expecting a fade.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
