It appeared to me that he tried to kick the first one (56 yards) too hard. He didn't have that smooth, compact approach that I've seen on his other attempts.

The second one, well, I think he was confused.

Meh; there are plenty of veteran kickers available if he winds up sucking.

Missing from 56 yards is completely acceptable. That's a LONG ass kick. Not many kickers in the NFL can make it from that distance. The one at the end was concerning, but at least it was from 52 and not 32 like Mare would've missed from.

Like I said, plenty of vets to bring in if he struggles week 1/week 2. I do think we should seriously consider drafting a long-term kicker next year, though. As early as the 5th round if necessary. Unless, of course, Medlock rebounds and is solid.

Can't wait to re visit this thread when games actually count. When our punter is kickIng it over people's heads, when Adams is returning punts for TD's, and that defense is a turnover machine. This will be a good thread to re-read

Those punts of course were returned for TDs twice in a row. Luckily they were called back for holding. If Medlock doesn't kick it through the end zone, I will be shocked if the Panthers make a tackle inside the 30.

Kickers not much of a concern if you plan on scoring TD's.

Besides the dude is young and seems to have plenty of upside. Mare is old and sucks.

I'm not wigging out. Show me where the kick off team has actually stopped someone? And those holding calls were not where the punt was fielded. They were big gains regardless of the hold.
