Beason still hasn't practiced

God (Zod?), I wish we still had neg rep. Phillips? PHILLIPS?! Yeah, he's played well in the preseason, but we've got Jon Beason. Jon mothafuging Beason!

That's like saying we shouldn't let Cam run in case he gets hurt. It defeats the purpose.

Actually it's not like saying we shouldn't let Cam run

It's more like saying I'd like have Beason in the long run. Kind of like the Panthers want TD in the long run so they are limiting his plays...

I know this is blasphemous to say here, but will Beason be a liability his first couple of games due to not playing/practicing for a year? I love Beason, but if he has any trepidation about going 100% while he's at MLB, I'd rather him sit and Kuechly play until he can go like he is used to going.

Yeah, but you've got to strike a balance between limiting your injury prone player's plays (TD=injury prone, Beason got injured, but I wouldn't say he's injury prone), and putting your best players on the field. Yeah, we should ease Beason back into the swing of things, but to suggest that Phillips should be anything more than a backup or minor rotational player once the season starts is crazy.

I said after the first preseason game. Lets just make up some reasons to sit Beason, Davis, Smitty and Cam until the season starts. Maybe the coaches were listening to most of it.

I personally am happy they are not playing right now. They are seasoned veterans and will be ready when it matters. Now if they start missing practice leading up to Tampa, then I am worried

I'm not worried in the sense that he can't go from not practicing to playing but more worried that he won't be ready for week 1. I think that is a possibility.

I don't put much stock into he hasn't practiced so he can't be ready for week 1. Now if he isn't practicing because he isn't quite ready for week 1, that's a different story.

I'm not saying he's a starter. But Beasons injury was major. He's still recovering. Phillips is serviceable until Beason is 100%

The people pretending like they aren't a little worried are lying to themselves. He was out all season last year and guess what, yet again he can't practice leading into the first game of the season.

not lying. not nervous.

he's gotten what he needs and he's getting what he needs. i'm confident that he will be fine when the season starts and i'm not going to worry about him getting re-injured....i mean why would i? so i can "prepare myself" for the not quite so inevitable? lol no thanks. he will be fine.
