Dwill and Jstew both top 10 RBs in the NFL?

I thought DeAngelo was pretty overrated last year. Him and Stew both got high YPCs but to me it was clear Stewart was helping the team 100x more. Seemed like DeAngelo killed so many drives last season with a ton of 0-2 yard runs. Not really all his fault and idk if there are even stats to back me up on that but I really think he was kind of a drivekiller. his ability to break out for big plays every once in a while inflated his YPC. I like Stewarts consistency more because it keeps drives alive

i'll dig them up later, but i believe i have the numbers to verify your post.

williams had what imo was a rather high percentage of nonproductive runs last season.

So, why is your bro a Bucs fan?

I really dont know. He started out as a Cowboys fan when he was a kid. Mostly because I was a Redskins fan, and they were rivals. When the Panthers came around I switched to them. A few years later, when they changed uniforms, he switched to the Bucs. Then the next year they realign the divisions, and we end up in the same division yet again. I just cant get away from playing his teams 2 times per year. lol I guess we were meant to be rivals.

Im talking as a whole full package running back. Im not putting Dwill or Stewart in each categories and saying yeah hes good here and hes bad there. If Williams and Dwill wasnt splitting snaps with each other, they'd be up there with Forte, McCoy Foster, etc.

This is what I was trying to say.

Stewart is my favorite player on the team and I don't give a poo where he's ranked.

Grow up. Stop getting pissy with your brother over football bullshit. The only thing worth bragging about is wins.

One of my favorite things is arguing about football with my bro. I dont get pissy, I just enjoy a good debate. Even with a Bucs fan who obviosly knows nothing about our team. lol

No need to explain further. Anyone that changes teams because of their uniform cannot be taken seriously.

Although I have no doubt we have a few of those types on here based on the popularity of uniform threads.

as far as talent goes, my unbiased "expert" opinion...

arian foster

adrian peterson

matt forte

lesean mccoy

maurice jones drew

ray rice rushing out of rutgers

jamal charles

frank gore

darren mcfadden

chris johnson

damn theres some good backs in the league...

Pretty good list.

arian foster

adrian peterson

ray rice

matt forte

maurice jones drew

lesean mccoy

jamal charles

chris johnson

jon stewart

steven jackson

Only reason McFadden/Matthews were not on the list is their injury history. Gore looked though last year to me. Turner and Jackson could be close to being though so. If i wasn't a Carolina fan I doubt Stewart would be on there at all,so that has to be considered.

The wife picks her teams by color schemes and helmets. She has a very good track record. Same with March Madness Brackets. She picks logos and does too damm well. I hate that woman sometimes.

Back in the day, you usually rooted for the home town team. Or the one in your area. It was an extension of the us against you mentality. Arun will beat Urun. If that is even close.

I blame cable. Kids have more exposure to the game. So it is normal for a few to go with another team. Or they pick a player and root for that team. Until a better player comes along, and the cycle continues.

Out of my many years as a LLLF, Life Long Lions Fan, I have spent many a year in foreign territory. But I always kept my alegience rooted in the LIons. Some folks just have to go their own way I guess. Nothing wrong with that. Weddles the herd.

Haha, It wasnt like that exactly. He was a Cowboys fan when he was a kid. I have heard there is kinda an unspoken rule where you can change teams once after you grow up. Any more than that, you becaome a fair weather fan. He started following them shortly after they drafted Sapp (96 or so) and eventually around the time they changed uni's he just made them his main team. He actually likes the nasty creamsicle uni's best.

I'm sorry, but you put DWill and JStew on another team with the right system and yes, they are both top 10... easily...

JStew is consistently seen as the hardest RB in the league to bring down, and he combines that power with exceptional speed and balance...

DWill has a great blend of speed and elusiveness and hits most holes at the perfect moment...

Both are receiving threats out of the backfield...

Not only do we have the benefit of having both of them locked up for years, but we also have a top 5 QB, one of the greatest WRs in the history of the game, an awesome TE, and a great OL... There is no reason the Panthers can't have the top offense in the league...

Back on the topic of JStew... he and Smitty have probably the sickest stiff arms I have ever seen... and I'm not being a homer...

without his big plays, williams averaged 3.3 ypc last season.

stewart, 4.4.

I am going to say this..... With the exception of maybe 4 or 5 teams in the NFL, most teams would jump at the chance to get Either one of these two players. Stewart may be one of the best power backs in the NFL. His stiff arms are becoming legendary. D'Will his the hole quickly and I love his 2nd gear... To top it all off. They have the low mileage but the experience of 5+ seasons? Anyone that thinks they are average backs, don't know football. Unless D'Will runs backwards, He will be the second back in NFL history to average over 5 ypc in his 1st 1000 carries. Jim Brown being the other. NOT Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith or Earl Campbell... that is not your Average back. Jonathan Stewart with 4.8 could make it there will under 800 carries. I guess 4.8 is average.
