How can we improve our pass rush?

I am not foolishly doing anything but stating the obvious our pass rush is not good enough to make the playoffs

How is it obvious??? We haven't ran our full scheme yet! So you don't know what the passrush looks like. You're basing it off preseason games, in which we played mostly soft zone and not zone blitz.

I am also basing it on last year where collectively our front 4 sucked.Hell Rivera even stated it was his biggest concern. We were one of the worst team for sacks last year..Stunts and blitzs will give you an occasional sack but are not a substitute for a consistent pass rush.

This isn't last year and we don't have the same starting D-line. And secondly your passrush isn't coming from just your front 4. Our LBs will be used a lot in the passrush. Can't make assumptions about the passrush when we haven't even played our scheme yet.

Worth remembering that a Jim Johnson defensive scheme loves inside blitzes.

Well that was really my question. What type of blitzs do you expect to see? and where will they come from.Do we have the pieces in place to make it happen? I am not trying to get into a pissing contest I just do not see the front 4 getting it done at a level to be a playoff contender.

Another way to get pressure, is take away the running game early. That would depend of our offense getting a lead, and forcing teams to pass. We know the pass is coming, we can get better pressure.

I don't see us getting starter quality secondary help from cuts, but it would be nice to get some depth at least.

That is true, but they usually had some pretty physical cb's that could jam the wr's at the line, throw off their timing and not get burnt on the hole in the middle that the lb's create when blitzing. Also, have a safety to play the robber spot to take away the hot slants.
