Not really. Most people who are smart enough get away with it. The problem is there is no money to be had robbing banks. Ironic isn't it? It's not like you hit one and you are set for life. Your take could be anywhere from 5 to 20 grand.

The ones who get away it the first time think they can do it again when the money runs out. So they do. The more frequent the crime, the more probable you are to getting pinched.

The FBI gets pissy when you make them look like idiots. One and done.

Some more details on the story. In the grand scheme of things, I have more respect for people who rob banks than people who rob from individuals. Although I imagine some of these bank robbers have likely victimized individuals before as well.

Still, it's better to rob a billionaire than a poor person.
