Can Armond Smith make the team

I don't get the Poole love. Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but he just didn't jump out to me when I watched him. Smith does. He's extremely quick, shifty, fast, and packs a little punch because he appears to run with good pad level. He appears to me, to be very much in the mold of the kind of scat back that RR was looking for.

Maybe I just wasn't looking for much when Poole was playing and healthy, but I feel like Smith is a good contributing player on the NFL level. He could be a starter in the NFL from the limited amount of time I've seen him play, so he would be an awesome 3rd HB.

Yeah I'm not getting it either. I thought Smith looked better last night than Poole has in either game he played in.

Ya know what is swiss cheese ?

Our underfunded defense.

90million! 5 Years! Running Wild!

Lol, I'm not gonna hate on the money we gave Stew and DWill because I love both of them as players and as people (as much as you could appreciate someone you don't know personally). In a perfect world, they are worth it.

But, one could make an argument that when guys like Shannahan can make late-round picks and undrafted guys Pro Bowlers in his system one after another, that investing so much in RBs, in regards to both picks and money, is unwise. The RB has become one of the most overrated positions in the game when you look at how the game has evolved over the last decade or so. But, our guys aren't just runners - they're blockers and pass catchers. So, I'm glad to have them locked up.

That being said, I can't argue at all about our defense. Although with a healthy Edwards, Kuechly, Beast, and TD, I think our run defense will be top 5 this year. Our problem is that money/picks should've been invested into pass defense (both rushers and coverage), IMO.

I get second guessing locking them both up with so much money, but truth is, most contracts don't last in their entirety and are usually restructured or terminated in some fashion when production doesn't justify the investment. It all works itself out.
