Old story about Pep in the 3-4........

It really is very simple. He said he hated being a down linemen in the 3-4 which is analogous to being a DT in a 4-3. You routinely get doubleteamed and your job is to take up two offensive players so the linebackers can get a free shot on the runner or the quarterback.

He wants to be the linebacker in a 3-4 who gets all the glory the tackles and sacks without doing the dirty work. Very different position and role than what is mentioned in the article. So his position has really not changed at all.

Yea I dont even know why people even bring this up. Funny though the 4-3 DE has less to worry about and gets payed more then the 3-4 LB. I still dont see why he would want to be payed less and work harder.

I don't think 3-4 linebackers work harder than a 4-3 DE but they do have more responsibility. The pay is more because it is harder to find a great DE than it is to find a great 3-4 linebacker. A lot of undersized quick DEs are put at outside linebacker if they can cover receivers. Supply and demand.

I beleive that Peppers thinks he is better than Ware and other outside linebackers who get a ton of sacks and tackles. He wants to get the numbers without working very hard. Plus I really beleive he wants a chance of scenery and position. He is quirky enough not to care about the money.

I agree but it has been stated he wanted to be a top payed player. Im just not much sure on anything about peppers to tell you the truth he is very quirky as you put it. BTW Ware IMO is def the better OLB because I have seen Peppers with a TE and he should stick to rushing the passer.

I agree. Most of the times I saw him in coverage he looked lost out there. I don't think anyone outside of himself really believes he will be a better linebacker than he was a DE.
