Vontae Davis is in no way, shape or form worth a 2nd rounder. Every time a camera was on him on Hard Knocks he was in the process of getting torched and the coaches were questioning his work ethic.

why mortgage the future with a high pick like that? you're rebuilding around a great young quarterback, keep that pick and invest it in the long term growth of the team.

this is when i'm glad we have a guy like hurney in the FO not pulling the trigger on stuff like this. (though, ironically, i would love to have vontae davis playing corner for this team right now)

Teams in the playoff/championship hunt make trades like this. Not teams rebuilding for the future. But again, with Luck the future is now. Would it surprise anyone if the Colts won the AFCS? Not i.

it's a smart move, get an instant starter on a rebuilding team in an area of weakness. for just a 2nd round pick i wish hurney would've jumped on this, but he only doles out future 2nd round picks for division II duds who don't project to any real position.

What, Captain Munnerlyn hasn't earned your confidence as a starting-caliber corner? The Panthers have committed so hard to Munnerlyn that the Panthers won't sign a free agent corner for years to come.

Vontae is a young guy who plays at a pro bowl caliber level... He is however out of shape and lazy as seen on tv however... But still light years ahead of any number 2 on the Panthers.
