Revis: Jets Defense Going To Focus On Cam

And Cam QB'd on the scout team this week after drinking two bottles of Denaka and with both his right arm and left leg injected with Novocaine pretending to be The Golden Calf of Bristol.

Rivera determined that was not enough and had Pickles beat with a baby seal baseball bat (the ones with 10 penny nails in them) for 12 minutes and after he took the field our defense was determined as FMC (fully mission capable).

Revis can kiss my ass. I don't give a fug what you have prepared for because I know it just doesn't matter. We are better than the Jets, end of discussion.

Jesus. You used FMC on a panthers forum... You work in aviation don't you lol

I was just stating a fact....and that was part of what Revis was talking about. He does serve a point.....The Golden Calf of Bristol can't throw but part of what makes Cam so tough is bringing him down and preventing him from extending plays. They can practice on how to get to a QB and how to bring him down.

The Golden Calf of Bristol cam throw ducks...the practice would be not allowing The Golden Calf of Bristol to make the horrible throw. The Golden Calf of Bristol is no Cam in the pocket but it is closer than some teams can get too practicing for him.

You can practice exotic blitzing and making sure you don't arm tackle a QB like you normally would.

This game actually scares me. Carolina doesn't run Cam in the preseason.....which means he will hang in the pocket as WRs struggle to get open. Also means the creativity is limited. I hope with Smith out they run Newton more than they traditionally have.......we don't want Newton in the pocket running a more traditional passing O......with our right side of the OL dealing with the Jets blitzes.

You do realize that the QB doesn't keep the ball on an option, right? He has the option of keeping it, or lateraling it to the RB if they come after him. He can even run a reverse to a WR.

If they key on Cam, he pitches it to DWill or Stewie. If they play off, he can run it or toss a pass to a TE. There are several options, hence the name of the play.

Well there you go. Gave some information to back up your hypothesis. Nice job with that part. Unfortunately, you are still off base as to why we do not run our Spread Option. The Jets game is still a glorified practice. The only time Cam will cross the line of scrimmage is on a scramble. If then.

During the regular season this play is a staple in our Offense. Not so much during preseason. Just too much wear and tear on Cam.

I admire your spunk. Don't ever loose that. You may just want to temper that spunk with a few moments of reflection on where we are at the moment. We have yet to prove ourselves out in the real world. Running Cam willy nilly in the preseason is counter intuitive to sustained long term growth.

Well the read option out of the spread has no pitch.....QB can keep it and run of he gets the D to collapse on the RB.

The bulk of our "option" plays were spread option....or zone read if you prefer. No pitch and Cam keeping it is part of that option play.

But they don't use that in preseason. Didn't last year. Haven't this year in preseason.

If DWill is trailing that play there could be a pitch to him. He has torched that play. Stew has torched that play. And Cam has torched that play. I love that play. But there can be a pitch involved.

Actually we did pitch it to D-Lo, off the read option before, after faking it to Stew. It was in the last game against the Bucs, and It was ran to the right side for a TD. That was the only time we ever ran that play. It's on the NFL Films video towards the end if you don't recall.

But then it isnt the basic spread option when ran. More of a tweak and rare play. Traditional spread option just has the 1 RB and that is what we mainly ran.

    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
