Madden 13-Digital Download?

I've never bought a digital copy of a game, aside from demos of course. Is there any difference besides not having a physical copy of the game?

Any pros?

Any cons?

I buy most games through Steam. It's great because it's easy to get your content on any computer, all you have to do is sign in to your Steam account.

I prefer the retail copy for two reasons. 1. You can take it with you / you have a hard copy of the game, 2. You can resell the game once you are through with it. I only buy digital copy if there is retail version.

"You can take it with you" is over rated. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've taken a game anywhere with me in the last year. Resale is a valid point but I tend to not get rid of games.

Downloaded full games on your PS3 takes alot of space on your hard drive(more then I like and less demos I can keep). And with a real disc you dont have to wait hrs for it to download and then upload it.

Also on PS3 I've read that you can only download the game to two different systems. So let's say your PS3 HDD crashes, once you buy another PS3 and install the game, you'll never be able to download it again. Most people aren't going to have to end up buying three PS3s in their lifetime for their own personal use, but it could happen.

At the same time, if you lose your Madden disk, you're out of luck. Still, I prefer having something physical and dependable. Game discs tend to have a much longer lifespan than hard disk drives assuming you take care of them. Blu-ray disks are especially durable.

The digital download copy would have to be much cheaper for me to choose it over the physical copy.

There is also hard drive space to worry about, especially on PS3 where many disk games are required to be installed on the hard drive anyway.

In conclusion, navel piercings are disgusting.

Pre-ordered the digital copy. I get a few bonus packs for ultimate team, and no tax. Looking forward to playing it tomorrow considering it's going to take hours to download at midnight.
