Off to surgery!

Jackofalltrades

I'm on a lot of Loritab right now, but feel pretty decent so far. I definitely have some pain and swelling, but so far this doesn't hold a candle to any of my previous three back surgeries. I actually have an appt in the morning to remove some gauze, I've had it packed a few times before so I'm prepared for that, I just hate the feeling of it coming out of the upper sinus, makes me want to puke.

Sleep is what I look forward to the most over the next couple of days. That's one of my favorite ways of dealing with recovery- sleep.

It looks weird not having a uvula any more. I'll also have to get my glasses refitted to accommodate the lack of a hump on the bridge of my nose.

Thanks for the tips, well wishes and prayers.

So...had the packing taken out of my nose which is damn nice. Never been much of a mouth breather.

My throat and nose are a little sore, especially where the uvula was and it makes swallowing rather tough. The bad part is the loritab, numbing sucker and orajel do nothing for the pain. Luckily it's not all that bad.

Worst thing today is, I have pretty bad muscle soreness from head to toe. I honestly feel like I went to the gym and over did it on a full body workout. It just doesn't make sense. I expected that after back surgery, but for the mouth and nose?

Anyway, far less painful than I expected thus far, pretty happy about that. I can already tell a difference in my breathing, despite the swelling.
