Your 2012 bold, yet reasonable predictions.

I will lose a little more hair on the top of my head.

Cam will have 3700 passing yards, 36 Passing TD's, 400 rushing yards with 6 rushing TD's.

Steve Smtih rec 1189 yards 8 TD's

Lafell 889 rec yards 6 TD's

Olsen 989 rec yards 12 TD's

Murphy 689 rec yards 5 TD's

That leaves 5 passing TD's between Williams, Stewart, Tolbert and whoever else catches the ball.

Stewart and Williams will rush for over 1000 yards each again (bank on it), Tolbert will rush for around 4-500 yards.

We will have 28-34 total rushing TD's between Cam, Tolbert, Stewart, Williams and maybe Harstock on another Fumblerooski play.

Def- I just dont know yet........

After one of our starters goes down (temporarily, mind you), Joe Adams comes in and becomes the 2013 version of Victor Cruz.

Mike Tolbert gets 700 all purpose yards and 8 TDs.

Our Defense becomes a top 12 squad behind the emergence of Kuechly, Nakamura, Keiser and Norman.

Hardy gets at least 10 sacks.

Olsen tops 1000 yards.

9-7, miss Playoffs in a tie-breaker.

Cam's numbers aren't as good as last season, but still respectable for a top 10 QB, plus he'll throw fewer INTs.

Smitty over 1000.

Double Trouble both under 900.

Tolbert's numbers will be miniscule as he'll play FB all season.

No one will shine anywhere else as a pass catcher. Average numbers at best.

CJ will have 11 sacks.

Keek will have more tackles than Beason.

TD gets injured again.

D finishes about 12th in the league.

O finishes about 8th in the league.

5 Pro Bowlers.

Finish 2nd in the division behind the Aints.

The Browns go to the Superbowl, after that I flush.

Cam Throws for 31 TD's and rushes for 9.

Smith squeaks by with 1,012 yards and 7 TD's

LaFell takes the bull by the horns and scores 6 TD's with 893 yards to back him up.

Break out TE Greg Olsen shocks the world and scores 10 TD's with 1,132 yards in his wake.

Our defense continues to shock the world by being a top 10 defense and has the most turnovers of any team.

Luke Kuechly runs wild with over 100 tackles, 6 of them for loss, 7 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, 1 TD via INT, and 2.5 sacks, going on to win the Defensive rookie of the year award.

Josh Norman awakens and becomes that solid #2 CB, leaving behind little captain and garners 8 pass deflections, 40+ tackles, and of course a whopping 6 INT's for his rookie year.

Panthers end up winning 10 games and fight for a wild card spot, they win the first game on the road, but fall short in the second game.

Yeah, I think I'm done.

What QB for the Browns do you have taking them to the bowl?

I still don't think that Newton gets anywhere near 10 rushing TD's. Goaline TD's will be covered by Stewart and Tolbert this year.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
