I always loved Moore too, and it's true that he is a great back up, and that is all he is.

Derek Anderson is a better backup though, otherwise I'd totally wish we had him.

I always liked Matt when he was here and had high expectations for him. I do believe he is a starting-caliber QB, I just don't think he practices well and usually finds himself in no-win situations (young, franchise QB coming in or against established veteran/leader).

But, I have to be honest, I haven't found him nearly as likeable since watching him in Hard Knocks. He seems to cuss for no reason whatsoever, and he also seems to have some extremely awkward exchanges with teammates... The scene where he finds out Garrard will be out with an injury comes to mind. Just weird.

i agree he actually has very little personality. All his exchanges are somewhat awkward.

Also the Q of what could Matt have said to his coaches...you are at practice you have to look better than the rookie and take the job. You can say I understand you made a decision on the future but when the bullets are real im you guy and Tanny will learn from me. It is like if there is competetion for a promotion..you position youself well and perform when it counts.

Matt Moore is a good back up QB. Some player like Batch have now made a career out of it. He needs to just own up that fact thats what he is and will have many moore years in the league

But the FACTS are that their 1st Team Offense and Defense got downright OWNED by the Panthers.....plain and simple.

What do teams do with their rookie/young qbs?

They surround them with as much talent as possjble.

Why don't they do that with all qbs?

Give Matt Moore a good receiving core, good oline, and a decent running game, and he can do more than manage the game.

No team will do that.

He will remain a backup, in this league. At least for now.
