Rumors of 1 man officiating crews....

I have an idea...How about the NFL just settles their dispute with the refs and get them back on the field dammit!

Exactly. How much money is the NFL quibbling over anyway? You could double the salaries of the refs and ti wouldn't be worth the bickering they are doing.

actually, I can see the league going overboard on calls.. a few missed calls are better than becoming ridiculously strict..

As for the rumor, it doesn't hold weight? bad rumor? LOL..

who truly believes Roger Goodell wouldn't implement this? what action in the past has shown you he isn't prone to drastic changes?

if the goal is saving money, there's absolutely 0% chance that this is implemented.

How in the hell would this work?

What about penalties where the play is blown dead? Offsides unabated to the QB, for instance? By the time the booth radios down to the on-field official and the play is blown dead, the QB has already been crucified.

How about the scuffles and broo ha has that happen every game? One official is gonna get those sorted out?

In a long line of bad ideas, this is waaaaay up there. The NFL makes billions and billions of dollars and they're haggling over nickels and dimes with a part-time officiating crew. Just make those guys full time already so we don't have lawyers out there trying to ref in their free time.

we already have lawyers as refs with the regular NFLRA guys who were locked out

I don't see why this is such a bad thing, could work out for the better in the long run. If nothing else, it'd reduce the number of times plays get affected because officials were in the way (ball carrier trying to get away from tacklers but the official is right in their path so they have to take a less than ideal route, leading to getting tackled).

The NFL needs Hochuli and his guns.

one of the worst crews in the league...unless it's an away game. guy's crew is always more lenient to the away team to try and level the playing field and take away any home field advantage. that's what you get for having a lawyer for a ref.
