You're right he didn't ask to be a WR, but if he wanted to play in the NFL its the only position he could've played.

He'd never make it as a backup QB. The guy is super small and skinny (would be the smallest in the game). NFL lineman would KILL him if he was back there more than a few snaps. Nobody wanted AE for a QB. He knew going into the draft that he would have to convert.

Honestly, this is another one of mistakes that takes some time before Hurney admits it. We've seen it before. Guys with no business on the roster staying a year or two longer than they should have because Marty's pride gets the best of him. It's usually with guys he traded for, too. Eric Shelton, Everette Brown, Dwayne Jarrett, etc.....
