Peter King ranks the Panthers #18

Peter King had the Patriots beating the Cowboys in the Super Bowl last year. He had the Colts beating the Saints in the previous year. He also picked the Lions to win the NFC North this past year. How did that work out?

I agree this is pointless since at this point in the season its anyone's guess but almost every thread these days is pointless because of the lack of news coming out, so are you saying we should just stop replying to all of them?

I am assuming not so I do believe that at this time of year you should be going over how the team did the last season and not overvalue the addition of FA's and Draft picks.

Just because the Redskins went on a spending spree, it doesn't mean they will win it all (although in my opinion they have won the off season superbowl). Just because the bears get cutler does it solve there numerous holes on that team, not to mention Cutler is changing systems and personal, and a whole new coaching staff. There is not one WR on that roster that I would trade even for Moose (you can make an argument for hester but he has inconsistent hands and he cant block nearly as well as Moose).

These sportcasters are forced to do these Preseason Rankings and Mock Drafts and they really don't put forth the effort to research each individual team needs and systems. Now some do but not most.

Peter King and his predictions means nothing. If we picked up Cutler he would have randed us at #4. We are not flying in under radar, any team looking past us would be silly. We have the best RB duo in the game, not to mention a top 3 wide out !

Sorry. I can't get the taste of that last game out of my mouth.
I'd bet that's not all that douchebag can't get the taste out of his mouth... I'm thinking most likely what's a term for Naval Recruits! Zing!

Yeh, 18 is low for the Panthers. I dislike even more that my Saints are 24th. Maybe he doesn't know this but we have a new fiery, aggressive D-Coordinator, three new safeties (a Pro Bowl, veteran and a 4th rounder), and we finished 8-8 last year despite losing two games off of two missed chipshot field goals and putting 18 players on I.R. Yeh, 24th best sounds right to me, too.

And what's funny to me is in his explanation of the Bears being No. 4 he keeps mentioning how mediocre their WR's are.

It's funny he says he can't get over our last game, but he has Dallas at #9. Does anyone remember their last game of the season? It was basically a playoff game for them as well. If they won they were in, if not they're out. How'd that turn out exactly?

Or what about Eli Manning. He had a 50 passer rating in his playoff game and threw 2 picks and everything is forgiven. Seems he was pretty awful as well but does that get much mention? Of course not since they won a Super Bowl last year people are still on his nuts.

Honestly, this is how I think he writes these things...

OK, first priority: Keep my job. That means make the majority of people happy and piss off as few people as possible. SOOOooo.... big market teams to the top, small market teams to the bottom. And I'll make sure I don't put anything too concrete in there as far as reasons go. Something like that could come back to bite me later.

You arguably say the giants did way more than us to fix there defense that and on paper at least they have a more complete defense than we do

the giants linebackers are atrocious and their secondary is questionable
