You know who's been impressive on ST's? Sherrod Martin. He's saved our butts a couple of times.

Maybe he has found his niche.

I think Special Teams will be fine once the roster is trimmed down.

My theory has always been that because so many of the ST guys had to play significant roles on Defense last year with all of the injuries, that that would make them better on ST this season, at least on kick offs and punts.

I haven't given up on that theory yet.

If they aren't, then I think the problem is the ST coach.

I remember the Chargers a few years back had the #1 offense and #1 defense and STILL didn't make the playoffs because of special teams. Big effect on the game definitely, and it will probably cost us a few games if we don't shape up.

Last sentence is important. There's no way that LIVE GAME EXPERIENCE shouldn't improve the ST guys if many of those guys were used on D last season and are still on the team and still playing ST, unless you're just so bad that nothing can help you (ala Jimmy Clausen).

Many people doubted the ST coach last year...if they suck again, I'm blaming him for it all (Rivera for not making a change, which I think he eventually will if they don't get better).
