New footballs cause concern among NFL quarterbacks

Really doubt if they are getting cuts on their fingers, if the same laces have been used at other levels for years. Sounds like typical bitching to resist change.

sounds more like someone trying to change for the sake of change.

still haven't heard one good reason to make the change.

I understand that these balls will be cheaper to make and they may even work better than leather balls/laces but cuts on the fingers of qbs/wrs and anyone who plays basketball just isn't worth it. Sure their hands can endure the beating for the game, but they HAVE to practice with these balls as well to be properly used to the feel come gametime. During practices and just tossing the ball around and handling it is going to be where the vast majority of use is, and those cuts are going to add up bigtime and start to cause pain later in season.

Highschool and colleges have used metal bats for years yet nobody has even touched on the subject to bringing it to the majors. Why? Because its fuging needlessly dangerous and would completely upset the balance of the game.

Considering all the money is invested in the professional level, the vast majority of everyone couldn't give a damn what the lower level guys are made to use. Think about it, if you need to buy a ton of footballs for a highschool football game that isn't going to make you a cent, your gonna get the cheapest ball you can...

So why are the college players, the high school player not bitching about the laces. So why the new bitching? Why didn't the current NFL players complain when they used the synthetic laces in college

Because High Schoolers aren't risking a multimillion dollar livelihood. Same for college players in most situations. Pro play football way more than amateurs as well. They handle the footballs way more often.
