Anyone familiar w/ the taking the Light Rail to games?

We were debating taking the Light Rail to the game Fri night. Is this safe option? Never used it before. We would get on in Pineville near the AMC.

Figured it would take the hassle out of driving Uptown, parking, and give us a little more time to sober up.

i have taken the light rail to tons of games from the I-485 station in Pineville. It is VERY safe.

The train will be extremely crowded on the way home with tons of other Panther fans.

Only downside is that the platform on Stonewall gets very crowded after the game.

So I assume I would be getting off at Stonewall in terms of going to the game?

Only downside when drunk....you will debate whether or not to just pee on yourself because you can't wait. Also, especially on gamedays, you can get away with not paying for a ticket. It's so crowded that it's impossible for the train to check them. However, due to the charge and fee of getting caught without one, I just always pay the small amount for a round trip.

$4.00 for round trip, with free parking at the South Blvd. Pineville station. The light rail is the best way to get to the game. The train leaves every 20 min. and just get off at the Stonewall station. It is a 5 minute walk to the stadium. IMO the only way to go to a game!!!

You could exit at the Stonewall station when arriving for the game, but when leaving, take the extra walk over to the third street station, likely less crowded and you would board before it stops at Stonewall heading south.

Definitely safe and practical.

won't be a problem if he stays for the whole game.

Yes, I do this 90% of the time. Get off at stonewall, go down the stairs, hang a left and you'll walk straight into the stadium...Even if you somehow forget that, just stay with the crowd.

p.s I boarded the train around 5:45(game started at 7) and in spite of the super long wait to get through the gate we still made it to our seats right in time for the national anthem.

I have done this a few times as well.
