It is a very rough recovery post-op for adults.

You have to take a long term view of it to be successful.

In the short term, it will be painful, but look at it like in one month you will be very nearly 100%, and will have much better quality of life.

Hell, an old Marine can do one month of ANYTHING standing on his head, right?

As far as the "change" in the docs opinion...my guess is doc #2 gave him his plan and reasons, and doc #1 digested it and saw the logic. It happens all the time.
