B/c that is a main function of this board. I mean who would come here to read the following:

Poster 1 - Steve Smith is awesome

Poster 2- Hell yeah

Poster 3 - I'm gonna disagree and go with super awesome

I mean being a fan is the ultimate escape from reality....you get to emotionally invest in something you have no control over. It is part of being a fan. What I don't get are those who complain about people who disagree with things. What type of fan just endorses everything 100%. That is a bore.

I feel like if you think the overwhelmingly negative thing is isolated to this board you need to look at other sites where people write their opinions more often. That's just the way the internet at large is...a large number of people bitching about something and a small number talking about something they like.

You know the sad truth of the matter? Negativity sells / breeds ratings / breeds news / whatever. We like it (we being people...not we being huddlers).

Want another reason? Fans who are invested in their team have some of the most deep seated violently defended opinions I have ever come across. I've seen relationships break up over Duke / UNC when I lived in that area....to think that a bunch of Panthers fans who don't know one another would go all Rodney King on the world when someone disagrees with their strong opinion? Setting yourself up for a disappointment there.

I disagree w/ like 5 things. Those 5 just cause people in engage heavily. So those few things are all I really spend much time w/.

I mean Luke was fun to talk about when I wanted him drafted and 95% of the board crapped all over it. Now? Everyone loves him. Which is great. We are all excited about it......but talking with people more than one or two posts about how great Luke is, is pretty boring.

I think the thing that bugs me most about this forum is the lack of maturity you constantly see exhibited - its like having to sit on the schoolbus with a bunch of pimply faced teenagers with bad manners - I wish zod would start a 40 yo plus only section

Amen! As an bonafide "old dude" ^^ I agree. Having a team for these two states is a blessing. Having said that complaining about our team is certainly a privilege but civility is cool too......remember we're not Eagle fans.

Personally, I love all the nitpicking, fussing, bitching, whining, crying, name calling etc. It reminds me of the Inlaws. To me it is very entertaining. I really enjoy when folks lose their shiff because they cannot change someone's point of view.

I truly enjoy most of the crap that goes on around here. But, then again after over twenty years of marriage, it is nice when I'm not the target.

It is the fuging idiots that resort to the lowest common denominator when they get upset. Those fugers pizz me off!
