it is a possibility that there is enough talent they want to take into the season that makes gettis expendable. if you have 5-6 guys on the roster that are at least as good as gettis (and i'm not saying that is or isn't the case) who aren't coming off an injury that is taking long to heal completely then he could lose out and i wouldn't have a problem with that.

it wouldn't be that he's getting cut because he got hurt. it would be because others took advantage of a situation that he couldn't. might not be fair to gettis but oh well. the panthers would move forward.

i think people get too attached to players.

Don't be a baby. We want the best receivers out there. If they earn it they deserve it. What happens if he is the odd man out? You want to let go a healthy WR who can actually contribute just to make room for Gettis on the roster?

Yeah when I started this thread, I was in no way insinuating cutting Gettis. But Murphy came in here, and instantly made an impact that led to an in game touchdown. He was by far the best wr on the field when he was in. Just saying he serves a shot at the 3, as does Gettis if he ever plays.

Gettis is like waiting for that raise you're never going to get.

again, i doubt anyone is really serious. it's being said because they know that people like you will take it seriously and get all hot and bothered.

there might be a couple who are serious, but not enough that guys like gettis need to be defended or whatever.

Gettis has only been injured for 1 year...he's only been in the league 2 years.

I think there's a difference if a player gets hurt that has shown sustained production prior to the injury....i.e Steve Smith. But a guy who's only had a couple of decent games doesn't get that same privilege because it's hard to know if he's mentally capable of doing the same things.

Gettis IMO is definately a bubble guy at this point. He has never played a down in this Rivera era. Basically, he is a kid that had speed. If they can find that verical threat......he doesn't have the resume to keep waiting around for.
