I appreciate Rivera leveling the excitement of Norman to the press, but I bet in his mind he was thrilled to see him making plays and creating turnovers. Even he if was doing some grabbing/pulling, it doesn't change the fact that he caught four interceptions. It would be different if he was batting it down, but he was actually catching the ball.

I may be wrong, but usually when a CB is flagged for pass interference he doesn't get an INT, he just causes an incompletion. Sounds like Norman has the hands of an angel out there.

I think was Rivera's point was, there was no ref to flag all his plays for pass interference.....so he was picking off balls (that really would have cost the D).

as long as he is actually playing for the ball, thus turning the intended reciever into a defender, there usually isn't a pass interference penalty.

...but who knows what the deal would be with replacement refs running the show.

considering the leg that guy has, there should be no short kicks like there was saturday. only reason i can think of is to see how the coverage units handle them. imo, holliday is about as good a test as you can have. that kid is a bullet. unfortunately we failed that one. i just don't know that the intention was to allow him a chance to return it.

That very well could be true. CRA could've also been right, it may have been just a fluke kick...either way Medlock still looks to have the upper hand.(or at least I hope as much)

Also nice to hear Norman is doing well. He may have gotten a flag in a real game, but that can be corrected by working on technique. His aggressiveness is welcomed. I hope he wins the job, I'd be happy with Cap moved to the spot he plays best. May just solidified the position.

even Lloyd would hit an occassional one funny that went short if I recall correctly. Unless he does it again I would think it was just a bad kick.

Joe Person@josephperson

Rivera said he can't figure out why Mare is short on his long field goals yet strong on his kickoffs.

Kicking off the tee and off a hold are different. But that's no excuse. We won't have to worry about him come regular season.
