we have been saying this for 2 years to many.

agreed, but don't for a minute think that this isn't important to rivera. the dude is going to get that fixed.

this is just his second season and he's gotten the offense pretty much one of the most dominant in the league. i think it's only a matter of time before he gets the defense where he wants it to be. he doesn't seem to except half ass play. he's a bit of an opportunist in a lot of ways and that even goes to personnel decisions. i wish we had been able to pick up a beast DT in the first round that was ready to go right away (though i think picking up a DT in FA is a better way to go), but there just wasn't one that was worth passing up a stud like kuechly for. i wish that we could have picked up a CB in the first couple rounds, but i still think we did well picking up the two guys we got in the first couple rounds.

there's still time, though. it's not like the window of opportunity for this team is closing or anything. it's a young team that has a lot of time to build. the offense, aside from maybe a spot on the OL, is done. now rivera can concentrate on defense. i'm believing he will.

We didn't realize just how good we had it with Rucker, Jenkins, Buckner, and Peppers. I figured that would teach the organization just how important a defensive line is. In retrospect I don't think that was part of any plan as much as it was just dumb luck to stumble into that lineup. Those guys destroyed people.

RR hasnt really made me believe in him that the DT spot is important other than singing an average DT in Ron Edwards and drafting two 3rd rounders last year. But, I'm not going to blame him. This year draft had a couple big body DTs but none of them have really suprise anyone (Cox, Poe, Brockers). Kuechly was a great pick by RR. I wish we could've add a guy like Garay but Dno.

Next year draft will def be better at the DT spot. I Hope he showed me he actually care about it then. A Star, Hankins or Short will def satisfy me.

I remember last preseason, a lot of people were saying that it was only preseason and our pass rush would be better in the regular season because we weren't going to show our colors during preseason. I really hope this isn't a repeat as much as I hope that Edwards (on the DL) stays healthly.

I am not sure we do not have the right guys to get it done. I have not seen anything to make me say we do but I have not seen anything that definitively says we don't either.

The fact is that our defense can get 100% better than it was last year and still be in the bottom half of the league this year. It takes a long time to build out of the hole we were in last year.
