And so it begins....Newton vs Luck

read through my post history, i don't praise players at all...im a panther fan first but an NFL fan too, and i agree with you saying more good players make the leauge better, but you cannot say people are dumb for not crowning a guy for 1 half of preseason football...

are you really getting mad at me calling people "idiots"?

if you are, I apologize.

Im not expert or scout, but I can sure watch one preseason game from Luck added to his resume at Stanford and say he's going to be an elite QB one day.

His footwork, vision, accuracy, and how quick he release the ball off his hand is truly amazing. And he's fast enough to scramble for a 1st down, not like Cam but he can.

I'm telling you, anyone who even needs to think twice about Luck not being a Manning/Rodgers/Brady type of player is just an idiot. He's no Leaf. I seen Luck played at Stanford the last two years. Hes not bust to me.

Stanford. PAC 12. And they couldn't even win the Fiesta Bowl ffs.

Anyone saying a player is not a bust, before they have proven anything in a real NFL season, is just an idiot.

no i don't need you to do that, because i only brought him up because you said "i seen him at Stanford"....so? Timmy was great in college...hes had a great preseason game...so? plenty of rookie QBs play great in preseason and poo the bed in the real games....we dont know anything about luck besides 1 half in the NFL...so again....dont put the cart before the horse...don't count your eggs before they hatch...etc etc you get the point

LMFAO. You still really want to bring up The Golden Calf of Bristol's name in this debate? Im not going to explain myself but this is what I have to say.

JJ Reddick was one of the best BB player we ever seen in CBB. If you dont get what Im trying to explain to you, go google it up and see why hes not so good in the NBA. Same for The Golden Calf of Bristol.

As a redone threat, duhhh.

As a QB who can lead his offense every series and put points on the scoreboard, he's not there yet. He made some terrible mistakes last year.

You said "scoring position" - not leading an offense every series and putting points on the board. "scoring position" is a little further out than the red zone.

and what mistakes are u refering to? his picks? first off 17 picks is not equivalent to having a "throwing picks issue". in fact up until 2 years ago when brady started throwing for high volume values with less than 10 picks. for reference peyton manning AVERAGES 15 picks, 4200 yards and 31 TDs a year. his 2 time superbowl champion brother eli averages 17 picks a year. Brees since being in NO has averaged 15.5 picks a year as well.

now if you take away legedu, cam gets about 4 picks back that were single handedly caused by naanee- and hell even if you don't Cam is sitting in pretty good company for having ONE ROOKIE SEASON UNDER HIS BELT. 4800 yards, 35 TDs, 17 picks.

I could care less what luck does.He didn't want to be a panther and we already have a great quarterback. What is he does for indy is irrelevant to me.I'm much more concerned about one of our corners or defensive tackles stepping up and solving a problem for us this year.Cam is gonna be a constant in the pro bowl.We have our qb!

Make it short. As good as Cam was, he cant lead the O in back to back TD, yet. Just say hello to those Saints* D.

Im not sold on RG3. And I see a lot of Jimmy Clausen in Matt Barkley.

Barkley is one guy I see as a potential BUST for sure.

The point is if people aren't comparing Cam to Superman, Ironman or Wonder Women most Panther fans get in a huff. Its like They actually believe he's a Hall Of Famer already. He's not even the best quarterback in the NFCS.

The media cant accept a black QB being as good as Cam is. They will do everything they can to diminish what Cam has done and make absurd comparisons to white QBs. If it wasn't Luck, it would be Tannehill or some other scrub.

They will never fathom Cam being as good as peyton, brady, and rodgers and he will never get the type of media respect as they do.

retarded statement of the week

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
