The increase in Hurricanes paraphanalia on all the cars lately?

The Caniac core is fantasticly supportive. Just wish the rest of the state wasn't so fairweather. Same could be said for the Panthers, but hockey is where it's at right now.

I definitely have. I'm glad people are becoming supportive of the Canes, but like you said, it's only when we make playoff runs. I remember watching when all we could muster was 20-something wins. It was pathetic, but stuff like that happens. I'm glad we do have hardcore fans though. Go Canes!

I have to be honest and say I only watch Hockey when the Canes are in the playoffs... but I'm not a hockey fan so... but hey, I do support the home team.

It's all good. If it's not really your thing, then it's not really your thing. At least you watch the playoffs though. Cheer for the hometown boys.

Charlotte has def caught on this time around...been seeing way more Canes flags/stickers since the playoffs started...

Now, the Observer has finally caught on too, 'Canes have been on the front page of the Sports section almost every day since this series started.

Me, I'm a Leafs fan, but when my poor Loafs are out (which seems to be the case all the time now) I'm on board w/ Carolina....my home "state"

I cheer for the 'Canes any time they are playing, unless its the Blue & White....that's how it's always been for me, all the way back since the Greensboro days when you could buy a nosebleed ticket and sit on the glass...

I miss bieing in Raleigh where I could talk about the Canes on a regular basis with people in casual settings. I have started to win over some fans this season in my area, and the playoffs is a perfect time to win them over for the sport.

Stickers are on the car 24/7, the flag went on as soon as we clinched a playoff spot.

Same here. The flag was brand new when it went up. 6 trips to Raleigh and meandering around Charlotte for a month since the playoffs began and that flag is pretty frayed. But it isn't coming down til we raise the cup, or go home.

Yeah, the flags catch hell. Mine are from 3 years ago, and they have seen a lot of red duct tape. I have a regular Canes glass for the regular season, and my playoff mug. I need a coffee cup.

Other day, I was leaving the grocery store and noticed that the truck beside my car had a Penguins magnet on the tailgate. The guy was checking out my flags, and as I passed him to get into the car, he nodded at me. I said "See ya next week", and he said "Yep".
