What is there to argue. That Hurney has a failed philosophy that isn't working?? Seems to me it doesn't really matter since they don't really care what you or I have to say. That is the philosophy and your bitching about it does nothing to change it. So again if you want to root for a team that invests in big time free agents and makes lots of off season acquisitions then root for Philly or even the Saints** but not the Panthers.

As for bitching about his philosophy, you are like Don Quixote jousting with wind mills. A big waste of time and accomplishes nothing. Assuming that you even right and that is surely up for debate. But not by me since as I said, it is irrelevant anyway unless you become the GM which isn't happening.

you are correct, so lets stop debating and discussing football alltogether.

This I can respect. However you do seem to try to back up Hurney when we question his moves, and that confuses me as you do seem to understand football.

We just need so much help at positions and we continue to overlook them, while overpaying for others, is very concerning to posters like Kurb and myself.

The difference is that I respect Rivera's expertise as a defensive expert. He is deciding who we need on defense not Hurney. If he is content with who we have I bow to his understanding and experience developing players. You and Kurb nonewithstanding..............................

The point I am making is stop bitching and acting like you know more than Rivera and the coaching staff who are the guys making the decisions because you don't. You can discuss what you want but don't expect anyone to actually think you know something. You are a name calling fan, nothing more.

Hey guys stop questioning the front office it isn't nice and you may hurt their feelings.

They've clearly shown time and time again that they have everything under control as evidenced by the amount of lombardi's in the Fo.

They get big bucks so take insults from fans so have at it. Just don't expect many knowledgeable fans to agree with you.

Hurney does not make any moves independenly of his head coach.

From 02-08 it was all about building a team to make Fox a succesful head coach. We built a roster to his prefences. After Jakes meltdown against AZ, that he never recovered from, Otah not panning out and having no first round pick in 09 our last ditch effort to save Fox we had the worst draft in history. We had decent success, getting to our first superbowl appearance 2 years after being 1-15. Then we made it back to the playoffs 2 more times (05 and 08)and seemed to get crushed by injuries every other year or got stuck in 7-8 win seasons because of Fox's conservative b.s.

recap of the 9/10 years

we traded 09's first for Otah.

then not having a first and needing a pass rusher we foolishly traded 2010's first for Everette Brown.

we used our natural 2nd on Sherrod Martin

then we made another mistake in draft corey Irvin in the 3rd

then the rest was bpa from there on, with a couple hits and a couple misses.

Goodson was ok a 4th

Duke Robinson looked like a steal in the 5th

Fiametta was supposed to be the run blocking machine for Fox's ball control offense

and then Captain in the 7th was a good value for a nickel corner.

After we failed miserably in 09, Jerry said fug this and dropped a poo ton of money in the uncapped year to blow the team up in 2010.

We needed a QB and Clausen looked like a steal in the 2nd, since we blew the previous years first on Everette Brown

Then we tried to get cute by trading the next years 2nd for Armanti

Landed Lafell in the third

Picked up 2 more defensive ends in Norwood and Hardy

got Gettis late

Under Rivera's first year our offense had new life breathed into it and really were not far from having a winning season(less than 10 total plays). And that was without the improved play I think we will see from our 2nd year DT's,combined with Edwards, Beason and Davis being back. All we need is Norman to live up to his potential and boom Captain's back at nickel.

Now we have our entire core locked up and just need to see if Hardy,Fua,Mcclain,Neblett,Alexander,Keiser- can step up on the d-line

Norman, Hogan, Nakumara,Martin can step up in the secondary and we are a complete young team ready to win consistently.

If not one of those guys step up, we have 5 positions at most on D to improve upon FS,CB,DT,DT,DE.

I think at least if at least 1 DT rises up, Hardy can play above average, and 1 corner pans out we will be a playoff team this year.

I love how you repeatedly claim those who don't agree w/ you.....aren't knowledgeable fans

this issue aside.

NFL coaches, GMs, etc. are humans. Garbage men to attorneys to doctors.....people do silly poo. People some times do glaringly stupid things.....the NFL and FOs are immune to that.

for example, 10 weeks into the 2009 season when Fox claimed Jake gave us the best chance to win. He didn't. Fox had faults. Landing a job as a NFL HC, GM, or your local ice cream delievery man.....doesn't make you immune to being human.

Yeah, big picture they know more in their pinky toe than your typical fan does.....but dumb is dumb.

Okay for you to not hate your teams GM since 02 when Hurney started your only choices that are still with the team the year they won the superbowl would be.

Jerry Reese-Giants- he's for 2 since taking over in 07(inherited a hell of a team btw)

Mickey Loomis-Saints*-took him 8 years and cheating to win 1 of 1 appearance

Kevin Colbert-Steelers-took him 9 years to get there and he's won 1 and lost 1

Ted Thompson-Packers-took him 6 years and 1 superbowl appearance

so pick one of the above teams and move on.
