GRAB YOUR PITCHFORKS!!!

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!

WE WERE DISRESPECTED!!!

IT'LL BE ANARCHY!!!

This is funny. This thread, plus the rankings thread bring out the worst in the homers. The pessimists get poo for worrying, now you guys piss and moan when people don't predict us to go 19-0. I love this board!

I don't have a problem with a sportswriter predicting we won't make the playoffs. That is his opinion but to base it off of history? Give me some honest reasons...No running game. Defense is porous as a sponge. It is a stupid column and written like he had a dead line.

"The Panthers have never had consecutive winning seasons or playoff berths in their 14-year franchise history. Alas, the beat goes on."

Damn! I didn't even realize this. That being said, I don't pay too much attention to opinions. This saying is trite, but true:

"Opinions are like A-holes...Everybody has one!"

If Atlanta and Carolina are out, then...

Further evidence that Banks' analysis is not very well thought out.

We are arguably the most talented and complete teams, on both sides of the ball, in this division.

Bucs/Saints, NFC South champions? That's a bold prediction...

Banks really had no clear rationale for his picks but trends and his own opinion. He mentioned that Tampa was 9-3 when we played them but forgot to mention we were 9-3 as well and the only difference was that they had already beaten us so they had the tie breaker. He mentions that no team has repeated as division winner without noting for example that we broke the last to first jinx last year and could break the no repeat division winner as well. Yes we have not been a model of consistency but we have only has 1 losing season in the past 4 and that was 7-9. Not exactly poor either.

I think what I react to is the deal that the Saints will be better this year and we won't with no evidence or proof just speculation based on trends which really hold little water. For example did he note we swept the saints last year. Did he note that the Saints are even a bigger model of inconsistency?

Pretty useless article with little more than speculation to back it up.

Forgot the end to that altruism...

"Opinions are like A-holes...Everybody has one, and no one likes to hear 'em!"
