First year I got into football they were an expansion team, didn't want to root for Raiders/Chargers/Niners like everyone else. I thought it'd be cool root for the new team and then it just stuck.

lol magic that is just awful. Mediocre players and low picks, did they get a single good piece out of this trade?

They had better offers from the Nets, Rockets, and Hawks. Smh, don't know why they took this deal. They're about to be bottom dwellers for years.

Oh well, that is still an old lineup and Howard's back is in bad shape. No guarantee they make the finals out west. Bunch of young, hungry teams in the West that can still give them trouble. Plus, I don't care what people say. Kobe is still going to take his 20-25 shots a game, so we'll see how the offense goes and if they're all able to gel. Haha, I wanna see if the two hoe ass, cornballs Kobe and Dwight are able to co-exist.

Nobody actually knows what the Hawks or Rockets were actually offering because talks didn't progress to the point of assets leaking. As for the Nets deal..... hahahahahahahahahahaha I'm not saying this deal is great, because it's not, but to say that paying Brook Lopez a max contract and Kris Humphries a contract of around 8-9 million for at least three years is a better deal is ridiculous. They weren't getting MarShon, and the picks they were getting would be around the 22-30 range just like the picks they will receive in this deal. Sorry Nets deal was complete garbage, this one is just three quarters garbage.......

Brook Lopez was getting overpaid no matter what this summer, but even if you get him on that bad contract you at least have a competent young offensive center to build around. True, we dont know what the Rockets were offering- but I cant imagine it could possibly be worse than this. At least with the rockets, you would be getting a couple of young players who could turn out pretty good (Royce White, Jeremy Lamb, Montiejunas, Chandler Parsons)- I would rather have one of those guys than all the players the Magic got back in this deal. Plus any Rockets pick would be more promising than the ones they got.

I mean seriously- the Bobcats traded Emeka Okafor (with his crappy contract no less) straight up for Tyson Chandler- who would have thought the bobcats got more in a trade for their '04 pick than the Magic? lol, I'm not complaining though, the division just got a lot easier

I'll agree the Rockets probably had a better offer and I said that all along, but I'm not sure how the Nets is better. The deals Hump and Lopez would be on would be absolutely toxic. The Magic's picks wouldn't be high enough to get difference makers, and they wouldn't be able to move Lopez or Hump for more assets....

Eh, bad deals for competent centers arent impossible to move, especially if Lopez can re-capture his rebounding magic from his rookie year (when he didnt completely suck at it). I mean the Bobcats moved Okafor with like 4 years left on his crappy deal.

Either way, I'm still laughing at this deal. Its so bad any way you look at it. I mean, you're involved in a 4 team deal with Dwight, Bynum, and Igoudala and the best player you end up with is Aaron Afflalo (who is really good- if hes your 5th best player). Plus you dumped Jason Richardson (ostensibly to save money) but you couldnt even move the much more expensive Turkoglu. Hahaha this is one of those deals Magic fans are gonna remember for a long time

Okafor was a defensive presence though. Lopez is just about the softest five in the league if not the softest. I've also seen it reported that Turky is indeed gone (being absorbed into Denver's TPE from the Nene trade). So if that's the case the deal basically clears Orlando of every bad deal minus Big Baby. If that's true then it's not a terrible deal by any means for a guy who said he would only "re-sign" with one team....

He is a legit 7 ft and can score 18-20 a game. NBA teams cream themselves over big men all the time, unless he turns into the next Eddy Curry you will be able to move him. The deal could make some sense if you include Turk (havent seen that yet), but still- you got nobody to build around. They just traded for a bunch of average guys in a league where average players dont matter. And all they had to give up was the best C in the game.

IMO the worst contract the Magic have is the one they just gave Jameer Nelson. Its been a terrible offseason for the Magic
