You know, this preseason opener has a storyline I haven't heard mentioned

Newton will likely play a few series at most. So the whole drama will last 1 quarter or less. The winner of this game will come down to our second and third teamers against theirs. Just like it always does. The real drama will be who steps up among the 15 receivers and who steps in the secondary.

I think Rivera said 10 to 15 snaps for the starters in one of the recent videos on the Panthers website.

I think the whole "they're out to get Cam" thing is all in your head. I don't believe they went out of their way to knock Cam around.

No, it was pretty apparent. Even to the national media. There was a play where the defense gave Cam a little room, thinking Cam would just run it out of bounds but he instead took advantage of it and ran for a first. That's what flipped the switch. From then on every play was an all-out blitz giving Cam hardly any time behind a pretty apathetic o-line made up of mostly rival players.

You must have forgotten... The Annexation of Puerto Rico play was against... Wait for it... The Texans!

Everybody will be out to get Cam from this point forward, and we'll watch them fail one by one

Sooo the refs were in on it too? because you are no allowed to blitz in the probowl.

Yes it wasn't an actual all-out blitz, but it doesn't change the fact there was a tremendous pass rush... something you rarely ever see in the pro bowl.

I watched the entire pro bowl game TY and most certainly noticed a change in the defensive philosophy/attitude when Cam was in.

I can see how Cam could rub current players the wrong way. Hell, look at how polarizing he is with fans.

Regardless how good he could be, dude has gotta earn his stripes.

I have to disagree with you on this one. That game was all about 'teaching Cam a lesson'. They clearly went hard on the guy.

I'm not sure if it is directly tied to the Texans game, but whatever. I did notice the extra pressure by the AFC when Cam came on the field. Maybe it was the AFC's way to welcome Cam to the Pro bowl collectively? But either way, it was overly excessive to do it in that manner.
