Pretty sure I said that I was done cluttering up this twitter thread arguing over something that doesn't matter. No one is going to change mine or your mind on this topic except the eventual outcome. I was just pointing out that when he makes the team, which I believe that he will, that the meltdown is going to be of epic proportions. Whether you want to admit that you have an anti-Armanti bias for one reason or another is irrelevant. If he makes this team it's because the coaching staff believes that he can contribute more than the other WR's that they brought in to compete. Rivera has not show any favoritism towards other wastes of space and if AE makes the team it's because Rivera has plans on using his as a WR.

I don't think AE makes this team as a PR or ST player. If he makes the team they are going to use him as the 3rd or 4th WR option. He's not going to make the team as the 5th or 6th WR on the depth chart as those spots will go to Adams and Pilares as they will be used primarily as returners.

And Murphy? Gettis? The coaching staff will surely take them over AE.

The only people who need to be right is the Panthers staff, beyond that its laughable that some people need reassurance that they made one correct statement two years ago. How battered is your ego to be looking for approval from complete strangers?

. . and Floppin's statement is on the "Money". Its a longer shot than some others, but he certianly has a chance, otherwise he'd already be gone. They'll test him in preseason games and then youll have your answer. Why are people even talking about it? If he plays better then he gets a spot. . .and we should all want him to get a spot if he's the best man for the job.

I am a huge Armanti fan .. but sorry Armanti is not making this team. He does not play ST except returning punts, If Adams handles his business they dont need Armanti, who has shown he can only average 5.5 yd per return and a season long of 17 yds.

Smith -- starter

Lafell -- starter

Murphy -- with his intangibles he will be given a spot and a chance.

Gettis -- has showed he can play in the league with a terrible QB .. if healthy he is on the team.

Pilares -- Kick returner ... returned for TD on a terrible ST last year

Adams -- punt return skill and was drafted to upgrade the returns

so how does Armanti fit in, if everyone is healthy?

Yes, because saying other WR's are worthy of that spot is "pulling against them". AE has not done one single damn thing, people crying last year "Just wait till he gets a capable coaching staff." How many receptions did he have? How many touchdowns did he score for punt a return?

Enough, of the damn babying of him. He's done nothing, if he were a no-name WR we drafted and wasn't known in the Carolinas people would be screaming for him to be cut.

I honestly think that one or the other doesn't make the team. Gettis has to prove to this staff that he's worth a spot, because he's never actually played so much as a preseason game for them and Murphy has had a less than stellar camp with multiple drops during every scrimmage session.

no bias against him. i likes the idea of him when we drafted him. and then last year when i thought he was going to turn the corner. the reality of him is quite different. i hope he succeeds, but i'm not at all banking on it. i just don't believe and i think there are more talented people available than him who deserve to be on the roster but who probably won't because the guys at the top just happen to be fans of his.

until i see in real games that he's getting it, i'm not going to believe it. i'm ready to move on.

i do agree that it would have to be as a 3rd or 4th receiver for the same reasons. i just don't think he's there or capable of being there. gettis has proven far more than he has. same with murphy. imo, those two should have a spot ahead of him and it's got nothing to do with me being a hater. most of the people running theor mouths about being butthurt if he makes is don't get that. it's not about edwards. it's about having the best players on the field and on the roster.

both those guys will make the team.

They're still better options than AE, and Murphy has chemistry with Cam. He made a few plays and can get behind a defense. Gettis and Murphy actually has WR ability, unlike AE. If Gettis shows he's capable then he has a spot on this team.

Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is, as you and I both know, if he does make the team there will be tons of people on this board who will never accept that as a fact due to a previously adopted bias that they've created for themselves.

i don't think people have it out the way that AE fans think they do. all the supposed haters see is a guy who was drafted (trading up for the guy) and kept a spot because the big dog (as in jerry richardson) wanted him there.

most just see him as a guy who has done nothing. then there are the AE fans who just think he deserves to be on the team because of what he did at App St.

i think he's got potential. so did dwayne jarrett. i'm just tired of waiting to see it realized. i don't want him to have a roster spot because of someone up top being a fan of his. if he's going to have a roster spot i want it to be because he earned it. most of us just doubt that he can based on what we have seen, not on what we have hoped. right now he sounds like the TC super stars of old like jason carter and taye biddle biddle.

the only real bias that appears to exist with AE is from those who are on his bandwagon. the haters that he may have had coming into the league have only seen from him what they expected all along...that he's overrated and he has done nothing to prove that he isn't.

if he can prove to be anything close to respectable then you will see those "haters" quit hating. the best way for people top quit doubting is for him to give a reason for it, and just making the team doesn't qualify.
