Mare on His Misses and His Competition

Recommended Posts

I just pray to God... That we don't need a game winning field goal at any point... Especially in the playoffs. Could you imagine how quickly Rivera would go from being loved and reveered to hated and disrespected?

Please God... Let us just blow people out!

Yeah! The only clutch Mare knows is the one next to the brake.

Well the more you look into Mare's history....the more you see a consistant theme. After 17 yrs, he still isn't a guy you want kicking late and meaningful kicks.

But this team historically struggles admitting mistakes. They can part with nobodies but this was a pretty big move considering who he replaced....hopefully Rivera changes that. Time to start looking for a new K...give a young body a chance

Mare can't win. He replaced an all-time favorite (who also has missed game winning kicks). He has become a goat because of it. He's a trendy guy to make fun of when you're tired of ragging on Clausen. If he misses again it'll get worse. And if Medlock misses a game winner, it'll be because he's young and inexperienced and "he'll be better next year". Ah the joys of a message board.

It's the fact that Panther fans will borderline riot if he misses a kick.

Medlock will win this I think.

Mare is a rebound kicker.

If he does make the team again and misses a game winner, you might as well cut him on the spot, because the boo birds will be out in full force anytime he touches the field.

Kasay missed kicks. Yes.

Mare wasn't a goat just bc he replaced a favorite. Sure it factored in some. He showed year 1 in Carolina what he had done over a 17 yr career....struggle with meaningful kicks. Kasay never did that.

I mean when you watch him on TV and the announcer simply says, well, he Mare has been known to miss those......it ain't gonna sit well. Even if you don't follow a John Kasay
