gettis running full speed

Recommended Posts

I didn't say you were hating on him for being black, don't make this a race thread. I was saying that's how him and all of his friends on twitter talk and I don't give a fug what he does in his personal life and neither should you.

Naane starting over LaFell was a fluke last season and should of never happened. LaFell out performed him the rest of the season and has continued to progress and learn the playbook. He's performing at a high level in TC so far while Gettis remains on the PUP.

I'm a Gettis fan but the #2 receiver competition is Murphy vs. LaFell right now.

Yes Lafell did outperform him, and he may have even had a better season had he been able to learn the playbook faster, the reason he didn't start until 10 games into the season was his inability to learn the playbook, Lafell will most likely open the season as the #2, all I am saying is I believe (my personal opinion) is that Gettis has a much higher ceiling and if he is healthy that he is a bigger threat.

Also I don't care about his personal life either if someone here hadn't posted a thread about it would never have seen it, I hate twitter.

I still think he will take the #2 spot and Murphy will take the #3 spot, we need more dynamic speed on the field and Lafell just doesn't have it, that and he is as dumb as a brick.

Lafell > Murphy

Just because his legs are human.

Murphy's so-called speed is overrated. He doesn't get any more separation than Lafell does, based on the video that I've seen of him. How can he when his legs each bend in two different directions?

Why play if you dont play to win? You werent very good at sports were you?

For the exercise? Bored? Just want to do something?

Everything in life isn't about PROVING A POINT, nor does everyone have to "win" something to feel special. Overly-competitive people are unevolved, and suffer from esteem issues.

If you "NEED TO WIN" or don't think something is worth doing unless you do, then you need to grow up.

Sincerely,

Evolved Minds

That's ridiculous. Are you seriously going to speak like you know about every single person?

That's exactly what I'm going to do. What? Don't like to hear something you're not used to hearing preached?

People do it all the time. In every profession, in every conversation. Doctors do it, psychologists do it, politicians do it, scientists do it...I'm going to do it.

Overly-competitive people are unevolved and suffer from esteem issues. They NEED TO WIN in order to feel important and validated, when they shouldn't lose their confidence one way or the other.

That's a problem, and they'll always have one, because they need for others to see them as a winner, so they care too much about what other people think about them.

Evolve past it.

Oracle must have sucked at sports as well. There is a difference in playing to win and being consumed by winning you idiot. If you do something half assed then you have a problem.

My views have little to do with "me". Unlike most people, I don't judge myself any differently or less critically than I judge others, nor am I looking for the validation that leads many to try to shape reality to fit them.

I know there's a difference between PLAYING TO WIN and being consumed by winning. The post I initially responded to asked "why play if you don't play to win", and I answered the question based on the "you weren't any good at sports" comment that followed it.

That was a very Frank Garcia-ish DUMB comment.

Then I talked about "overly-competitive people", which the last time I checked doesn't equal "athletes". Some athletes are "overly-competitive", but not all of them. I'd say that a higher percentage of the guys on Wall Street and in Congress these days would qualify more as "overly-competitive" than many athletes.

The opposite of "overly-competitive" is not "half-assed", though I wouldn't have expected any less of a response from an overcompetive individual. But I'll agree with you in part about guys like Jeff Otah with a lot of potential, who don't give 100%. They have a problem, but "overly-competitive" doesn't = giving 100%.

Overly-competitive = the guy who every time you turn around is trying to WRESTLE somebody to prove to himself that he's the toughest.

Overly-competitive = the politician who refuses to support an idea he's held for 20 years just because the President of the Party he opposes has now adopted it.

Overly-competitive = feeling the need to question the "manhood" of others via sports.

It's a completely different set of priorities than just "playing to win".

By the way, "winning" doesn't mean you're any good at anything, or else Adam Morrison is better than Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard.

Men compete, period.

I dont think I have ever heard any other reason for a dude to be playing a sport. I could go further and tell you how it causes wars too, but thats another story.

You either must not know much about women, or you haven't been around many.

Women tend to be much more competitive than men. They fight harder, when they do play sports they tend to play harder, and when they want something, they chase it harder. Women are much more likely to chase after the partner of one of their friends if they want him than a man is likely to actively pursue the girlfriend of one of his boys. That's "overly-competitive", lol.

MOST PEOPLE are competitive. These days, too many people are OVERLY-COMPETITIVE, which is why this country is going downhill.

90% of people that use the "It is only a game" line, would still much rather win than lose. You can lose with class, and you can win without it just as easily as win with it.

The world is a competitive place. Being more evolved is not going to help you, because people are not going to care. If you are not going to compete, you are going to be eaten alive. Not that there is anything wrong with that, if that is how you want to live.

For over 20 years I have been letting the wife win. Except at golf, it is the only sport she plays, and I cannot play bad enough to lose. She is one of those, it is only a game, people too. Sports, she could care less. Games, she loves to win. Chicks.
