I stopped reading at that point.

It is Andre Neblett. And by the way, no one is making you read. Really had very little to do with the rest of the post. I suppose nothing makes you feel better than to point out other people's mistakes.

There are certainly times where I really wish the overall intellectual discourse on this site was better. A large percentage of people seem to only be concerned with attacking other people.

It's unfortunate I guess being a newer franchise that there are only a few websites like this. I certainly like the website but I do hate the fact there is so much of this behavior that goes on all the time.

I might not agree with everything people say on here, but I do not attack anyone personally. It's an anonymous internet fan forum, so I guess it empowers people to take this on. Congratulations

re: Dline...the DEs had to deal with a massive lack of experience in the interior of the Dline. that isn't good. that is one area that you can't throw in a rookie and expect anything positive. and we had two of them starting for most of the year. you want to know why the pass rush was so bad...that's it. this year we have no inexperienced players on the Dline interior, esp. starting. in fact we have ron edwards back who i don't expect to be a warren sapp or anything, but i do expect him to 1) provide much needed experience at the position and 2) can take up multiple blockers. hardy is coming into the season healthier than last year (no pre-TC motorcycle accidents on the interstate and all that) and the DLine has a much better clue of what is going on in this scheme. expect the run defense to be more solid and the pass rush to be more effective just because of all this.

re: suspect secondary...steve wilks. i don't think people realize the effect that proper coaching can have on these guys. last year they had to deal with an old coach that didn't quite fit the system, in fact came from a very different system (passive vs. aggressive) and was only there as a place holder until rivera could get the guy he really wanted. wilks knows what rivera expects. meeks knew how to do things his way and it had been a long time since he was a position coach plus just having him stick around in a demoted capacity just made for all kinds of awkward. we also have more talent and more depth in the S and CB corps that we didn't have along with more experience in several players. i think the secondary will be quite ahead of where it was last year.

the biggest thing that will help out the defense is the LB corps. this is the backbone of the D and it will have a huge impact on how everyone else performs. the bringing back of beason and the addition of keuchly will make the defense better. they will make everyone around them better. i see this as being close to the same effect that the addition of cam had on offense. having beason and keuchly will make this defense studly. sure they won't be covering everyone and tackle everyone, but their influence and intelligence and overall talent will help raise up the talent level of all around them.

add to all of that we should have what we never had last year in the D personnel...stability. the lineup was constantly changing. there was no continuity and rivera and mcdermott could never get into the meat of their playbook because they were never able to fully develop as a unit. it was always patchwork and trying to tailor the D to the strengths and weaknesses of the D's personnel and that happened from week to week. you can't expect anything close to success in those conditions, esp. when it was a new system, new philosophy, and a very limited offseason.

and then we have rivera who admitted that he was having trouble, understandably considering he had never been a HC before, finding balance and knowing where to allocate his time and energies. he now knows what's expected of him and has a much better idea on how to manage a team from the HC perspective that can only come from experience in that capacity. he also said that he focused much of his attention on offense trying to make sure that chud and newton had everything they needed. the offense got to where it should be and now he can put that same focus on helping out mcdermmot and the D.

i expect the D to make pretty close to the same turnaround the offense made from '10 to '11.

It's because CRA feels like every team has a franchise 1st round RT on their team. I mean, my gosh, why didn't we draft tyron smith 2 years ago, that guy... he's gonna be a HOF.... and we would have no offensive line issue's!! Clausen would have been great behind that line!! /sarcasm.

I think Bell will be fine, RT is not one of those positions you come in as a rookie and dominate... it takes time, and I think Bell will improve with time.

I just feel like teams whose franchises have an investmet and player like Cam....don't play guys as bad as Bell was in pass protection unless it is an emergency. Last year was....heading in this year isn't.

RT pass protection is more important now than it has been in recent history in Carolina.

But hey, of you don't think protecting Cam is a HUGE deal fine. That can just be me. Bell is a nice story....but that story ain't worth exposing Cam again. Bell will of need to improved significantly in pass protection to deserve to be on the field

Did I attack you or resort to calling you names!? No. I simply said I stopped reading at that point. It may have been a mistske but, when reading through it, it came off as uninformed. Don't take it so personal! You might want to check your panties, they seem to be in a bunch.(that was a personal attack)

Didn't say that at all. said people make poo up in their heads and pronounce it as gospel.

Well, there is plenty to support him being bad in pass protection. His horrible stats also were padded by Cam making them look better

Actually that is why it took me so long to sign up. I wanted to gauge the intellect level of the posters here. The Huddle is much better than most sites. It is outrageously ridiculous how some people comment after Internet articles or random website posts. They do it because they know they can be buttwipes from the safe confines of their home. As I stated the Huddle doesn't seem to have that element, but occasionally some can be a little rude considering we root for the same team.
