Rivera's Remarks: Ailing Cornerback's

Recommended Posts

If you're injured, you can't play. Maybe Rivera is frustrated with the injury and not with Hogan.

Not every player that can't make it back onto the field is Jeff Otah.

Rivera IMO has now on more than one occasion appeared irked in what comes off as toughness questions.

I don't think Jeff being hurt bothered Rivera. I think Otah being soft did. The fact Rivera was a NFL LB in the 80s probably has a large role in what he wants in guys

I think because Hogan had such a good practice yesterday, Rivera was anxious to see him string together a few good sessions in a row. Unfortunately he is a little banged up and now he can't see what his defense could be with the personnel he wants on the field.

Norman would have had this job locked up if he could have stayed on the field.

^^^ Fixed. This is my take. Soft tissue injuries are a bitch. Why some get these and others don't is for someone else to explain.

I don't ever remember Barry Sanders having a hamstring injury.

GD-it stretch before practice!! We can't have any excuses this year.

I think Rivera's frustration is more because he sees that they are progressing like he would like and by not being on the field they are taking away valuable reps. At the same time it's good to see the other CB's on this team get reps and make plays. Competition man, it's there and it's making everyone better.

Norman needs to be out there soon though.

Hell yeah Rivera LIKED what he was seeing. During OTA's Norman was pissing off Smitty, during my visit to TC on Saturday Norman was pissing off Smitty. Now his ass is on the sideline. I am so fuging disapointed. He needs all of the prep he can get. Get your ass on the fugging field Norman, now! Again, ever hear of Scott Case pulling a hammy? You are a fugging-damn gladiator, get the fug on the field!

Jeez. Sorry for the ass clown impersonation, but this poo will not cut it anymore. Look at Otah's fat ass and see what happens in Chico's doghouse.

"All in!!" or get the fug out.

Mentions that he is kind of concerned about Norman and Hogan because while they are missing time guys like Chris Gamble, Captain Munnerlyn, Darius Butler, and R.J. Stanford are only getting better.

One thing that caught me was that Rivera said something along the line of... Hogan is not used to having to work this hard and being this sore.

I wonder if he questions Brandon Hogan's work ethic?

I had mentioned this before but I had a player said he questioned Hogans work ethic over a month ago.

I would be concerned to if two guys you are counting on at our weakest position go down in the 1st week.

I think we are all anxious for Norman to step into the starting role. It's not happening fast enough for anyone. I don't have a problem if Hogan or Butler takes the starting role, but we can't have Capt. in the CB2 role. Everyone feels the pressure of solidifying this critical position. Interestingly, the situation at safety is less of an issue. It seemed to me like both safety positions would be up for grabs at the end of last season, esp. Martin. Now it seems like the old depth chart is still in effect.

The difference is probably because both safeties are viewed as guys that have the potential to be good, while Captain is probably overmatched at #2 and most don't see that changing.
