What are the chances Medlock stays a Panther?

You may have found my analysis confusing, but to me it is much clearer to lay the numbers out by themselves without throwing them in the middle of paragraphs.

I use the same site you do for salary info, so if we have a difference of $100,000 here or there, it is more a function of reading the info wrong.

My points are these: 1)You cannot look at the cap hit of a cut player simply based on what happens with the accelerated bonus charge. Salary must be considered as well, as that is just as much a part of the cap as the bonus, and 2)over the next 2 years (no matter how we do it), cutting Mare would have a net positive impact on our cap, not negative. Therefore, if we keep him, it is because of anticipated performance, and not "what he costs us" as some on the board have suggested.

That's it.

P.S. If you want another example of how many are mis-informed re: cap hits and ability to make roster moves, do the same exercise with DWill and a possible cut in 2013.

You may have points you want to make but you are using the wrong numbers to prove it which takes away from your conclusions. I just pointed out the right numbers for perspective and accuracy. No one is arguing that keeping a guy who makes a little over the league minimum with no guaranteed money is cheaper than a guy who we signed for 12 million. And from the numbers I used it is clear that cutting Mare won't be that big a deal either this year and will save money going forward. But it is a huge risk to cut a proven veteran who has made a few mistakes over a totally unproven guy who has never played in the NFL before. I hope they know what they are doing.

I think you started it off with the F bomb if I remember. Don't talk crap and there won't be any.

If I read your posts correctly we're on the same side. We both want Mare gone, yes? I said "Fu*k all you wannabe analysts, Mare chokes more than a gay porn star. He needs to go." I was referring to the fact that the first thing that comes up on this board is this cost vs. that cost when, as fans, we should be thinking about wins vs. losses. I was making fun of this fact and trying to create some humor about Mare and his choke artistry. At what point did I point my statement at you in particular? Are you a wannabe analyst? Where exactly does it say "Fu*k you panthers55"? That's right, nowhere. You decided to come up and, rather than make a real argument with me, you immediately decided it was a good idea to start the conversation by insulting my intelligence and following up said insults with several sentences with at least three question marks per sentence at the end. I don't have a problem with you, you brought the problem with you. You could have ignored my post like everyone else but you had to come down and make insults for no reason other than to ruffle someone's feathers. So what exactly is your problem?

Perhaps you are in an argumentative mood today. I guess I don't understand what the point is you are trying to make. We both reach exactly the same conclusion, namely, Mare is quite cuttable.

You chose to take issue with me understating Medlock's salary next year by $90,000, even though that does not change anything of significance. Should you just want to argue over nickles and dimes, I should point out that you have overstated Mare's 2012 salary by $100,000. The reason I didn't is it didn't change the gist of either of our analyses...namely, Mare is cuttable.

It isn't one post, it is the tone of your posts in general which are confrontative and juvenile in a psuedo internet tough guy style. If you had just said you think the most important thing is winning not the cost, I wouldn't have responded negatively. My problem is people who come on here and make immature and ignorant posts. Usually I do ignore them, this time I didn't. It happens...

Why not say yeah I was wrong but we both agree that Mare is cuttable and move on. I wouldn't have argued if you hadn't come back arguing with my numbers when yours were clearly wrong. You responded to me and when I accurately pointed out your errors, you go back and forth with this. Just move on and let it go without compounding it.

Might be a good time for you to take a Motrin.

You don't seem to realize I post in such a manner because I want to piss stupid people off because it's so darn easy and it's funny to watch them squirm.
