Not hating on Cam....he is a stud. But, I hope that he does not get over confident and cavalier with the ball. I know it is just TC, but I am reading about an awful lot of interceptions. Hell, he has thrown 2 to DT's in just 3 practices.

I don't know about the one to Fua, but the one to Johnson sounds like it was a designed screen all the way to Smitty and Johnson just sniffed it out perfectly. Usually in those kind of situations, the offensive tackle is more at fault. The Fua play was a screen too but not sure if it was all the way out there to a receiver or just to a halfback.

I'm not too worried yet. I'd rather him get the mistakes out of his system now rather than try to play it too safe out there. Not saying I LIKE him throwing interceptions, but you get the point, I think. As the season wore on last year, Newton was much improved at not forcing the ball.

Newton may have gotten picked off a couple of times, but he had his share of good moments as well, and he had fun with them. Newton enjoyed a celebratory clap after Smith hauled in a touchdown pass over the middle, and when he scored on a rushing touchdown, he broke into "Bees' Knees," a dance style that originated in Charleston, S.C., in the 1920s.

For those not schooled in Roaring '20s dance crazes, Newton put his hands on his knees, pulled his knees together and then quickly switched his hands from knee to knee repeatedly.

The one to Fua was some sort of screen. I don't think it was a bad decision, just a bad throw. The Interception today vs Charles Johnson was probably a bad decision. Charles didn't jump the route, he was just plain standing between Steve and Cam. All he had to do was get his hands up quickly enough. We really can't say if he would do that in a real game or if he was just taking a chance for the hell of it. Cam has taken a lot of chances in camp because there are no consequences.

I explained in a diff thread not to worry about the Gamble pick today. It was a bad matchup. Lafell had a chance to make the play he was just painfully slow. Steve would have made the play easy. It's good Cam learns what Lafell can and cannot do now rather than later.

A very small size for them is 8 and a half inches like alex smith. Brett Favre though has huge hands at 10 5/8 inches.

Cam hand size is 9 7/8" Hands

Look the stats you posted and translate that, everyone one of those QB's is smaller than Cam, some by a lot, and some still have larger hands (Brees)

Its not a big deal, but its just something that I noticed. Ill bet that his ankles are smaller than usual too for his size, but I havnt compared yet. Smaller ankled runners are typically faster.

Steve Beuerlein, who was pretty damn good for us back in the day, commented last year during the Jacksonville broadcast about how big Cam's hands are.

Thanks for the info. I was just going to hear from someone who was there and could provide more on how he has looked...which you did.

I am also not worried. Good to hear it is just taking some chances to see new things rather than a series of bad decisions.

I just hope we don't see a Josh Freeman kind of scenario.
