Training Camp Notes 7-30

So I got a chance to go to one of those training camp things this afternoon which was really chill. Loved the atmosphere...very cool I may say

Tis like this ladies & bretheren:

-Surprisingly, a few of the lesser knowns were who I really thought stood out at times. Overall, here's who I thought helped themselves:

22 - Josh Thomas CB

21- Brandon Hogan CB

19 - Seyi Arijotutu WR

9 - Jared Green WR

-Clausen still looks like Clausen, he'll no doubt leave after his rookie contract is up imo It was just hard to watch minus 1 or 2 passes.

-Newton had a few good looks at Louis Murphy and he will bring just as much play and potential as Gettis and that's great insurance in case he doesn't recover for the time being.

-Pilares was surprisingly strong running routes

-Jared Green looked strong on ST and knew what he was doing which is good haha

-Nakamura definitely has on field authority and communicates with Beason and the unit as a whole well. Strong fit here

-Two words for Kuechly: DAMN SOLID...he's a guy who goes out, and does what you want him to do

-Hogan had a GREAT pick during the practice. He really stood out when he was actually in.

-Olsen will continue to be very strong as a receiver had some damn solid grabs

-Tolbert is literally a fuggin bowling ball...almost had a sick deep crossing pattern early on.

-The defense as a whole is still hiccuping... Its hard to fully judge for someone like me (a peculiar paleontologist) but McClain did look bigger.

-They had Mare out basically the whole time. He made like all of his field goals but couldn't seem to boot any in the endzone.

-It was surprisingly a great place to bring the gal especially with the weather. AWESOME

-had a grape slushie

Who didn't help themselves:

-The only two people with umbrellas popped up in the middle of the crowd for the full afternoon/night

-Nikki Haley. None of that bologne lemme what football dammit

-Martin

-Reggie Smith...it wasn't his performance, he just didn't flash (yet)

-Jordan Pugh with the backup units

Not as in-depth as some of y'all but a casual fans go. Now here's some completely random music to chill to:

Aloha

Thanks man, the coverage on twitter was absolutely terrible today so I'm glad to see a write up from a fan that was there.

I find all the talk about Nakamura and his communication interesting. Pretty much everything I've read about him at camp so far has mentioned how vocal he's been when on the field. Rivera has said that one of the big shortcomings on the defense last year was lack of on-field communication. Sounds like someone may have picked up on that.

Yea I've been hearing great things as well. All that time behind Ed Reed must have prepped him for a starting gig someday.

Thanks for the write up - I know its just camp and all but Im starting to feel pretty good about our secondary - still I know they are young and will be making some mistakes.

I'm still skeptical of the d as a whole right now but the secondary definitely seemed fired up. Josh Thomas for some reason really stood out. I really liked his intensity and his number kept popping up from my view.

Butler was with the starters a lot but Hogan showed he could hang and may challenge Norman & DB

The team just looked better but young as you said
