Rivera and McDermott comment on how much they will use the 3-4

which is my whole point on this whole switch to the 3-4 debate. CJ might line up as a OLB but we won't ask him to do much more than he already does.

That is true but keep in mind that with a fire zone blitz the DE is occasionally asked to drop in short zone coverage in a 4-3 so it isn't like he hasn't been doing it already.

true not like he hasnt dropped into coverage before plus CJ is pretty athletic. its harder to drop into coverage from a 3 point stance than a 2 point.

I agree so what can we do to hold the Falcons to under 3 TDs?

Stop Turner from having a big day on running downs. On passing plays cover Gonzales with a linebacker and a safety over the top and play man coverage with Jones and White and put the other safety high. Sure you can get beat deep but Matt Ryan throws a pretty poor deep ball. Control the ball and don't make big mistakes likes Ints in the end zone. We handed them the game at BOA last year.

CJ will drop into coverage at times he might line up on either side of the line or he might slide down & play some 3 tech but he will be chasing the qb most of the time since that is what he does best & what we wrote him the big check for. i think riveria & mcdermott are looking for creative ways to utilize the talent we have & give oppents something else to prepare for more so than switching the defensive philsophy all together.

I will add we will have to get better with our secondary

just thought that this was interesting considering the discussion from the past couple pages...

SteveReed_AP Big Money picks off Cam. Nice play fading back off the line and jumping up to make INT. Gamble then picks off Cam on next play on bomb.
