Here is why I think the Panthers will go 9-7 at best

Yeah, .500 regular season record vs playoff teams. That's better than the Steelers. And one of their wins was vs. San Diego (by 1 point) who you mentioned.
WRONG! San Diego was 1-5 vs playoff teams in the regular season. They beat the patriots and lost to the colts, steelers, dolphins, falcons and panthers. Bottomline, they were 8-8!

Happy Panther...I see your logic and you make a valid point.

Try looking at last years schedule this way- There was not one opponent last year that we played that was better then we were. Here is an area where stats are decieving...the Saints were so up and down last year. The Saints over all record was not impressive, but they were such a wishy washy team. They were capable of beating any team on any week, they just couldnt seem to do that consistantly. Our quality wins were against the Cards, Falcons, Saints and Giants.

I do not agree that the Giants are better then the Panthers. That was a classic game last year , I think our defense just ran out of gas. Credit to the Giants for having multiple quality RBS,and fresh legs to help out in that overtime win.

(can never have enough running backs!)

As much as I want Jake gone ,his performance in that Cards game without a doubt was a fluke . We are a better team then then Cards. The beauty of our schedule next year is that we get a rematch with both the Giants and Cards!!!

Wrong about what? I said the Steelers (you know, the guys that won the SB) had a worse record vs. playoff teams regular season than us, and they do. They were 3-4 and we were 3-3. I brought up San Diego because you were basically saying that win doesn't count, but that was one of the Steelers wins also.

The steelers were 3-4 vs the playoff teams in the regualar season and they beat the 11-5 patriots too. But as I recall they won the super bowl and the panthers went one and done. The steelers also one of the toughest schedules in the league and the panthers had one of the easiest.

Even if you count that as a "playoff" team, they'd have a .500 record vs. them, same as us.

Did I say that ONE loss was the reason we will only win 9 games next year? No I dont beleive I did.

And whats your point exactly? If you include the playoffs the steelers were 6-4 vs playoff teams plus they beat the patriots. The panthers were still only 3-4. And the steelers still had a harder schedule.

My point is that we're talking about a regular season record for next year, and the only thing you can bring up is what happened in the playoffs. Regular season, we did better vs playoff teams than even the steelers.

Also, this is the 3rd time you've brought up their "harder" schedule. We are talking about their record vs playoff teams only, so it's irrelevant. Not to mention how they base the SOS rankings is flawed anyway.

If you just take history into account, it really isn't hard to see or understand how we might not fare too well next year.

It isn't just about what happened last year, but we all know the whole we haven't had back to back winning seasons before.

Also this vs the Panthers:

Buffalo leads series 3-1

Dallas leads series 7-3

Miami leads series 3-0

Minnesota leads series 5-3

Philadelphia leads series 4-2

Washington leads series 7-1

We just play some teams next year that we have historically not done well against. Doesn't mean we will go 7-9, doesn't mean we'll go 12-4, but to say next year won't be rough is more than a stretch.
