MLS All-Star vs. Chelsea on ESPN2 right now

I wish North Carolina could acquire an MLS team.

Garber mentioned Raleigh as a possible destination for an expansion team.

Wake Med Soccer Park is too small to house an MLS team but they could probably play at Carter-Finley until they are able to expand Wake Med Soccer Park or build a new stadium.

Carolina Railhawks, Charlotte Eagles, Carolina Dynamo, and Wilmington Hammerheads soccer can only do so much for you.

would totally love a MLS team in Charlotte. Tie it in with racing. Charlotte Speed or due to the large # of hispanics/latinos, Charlotte Toros.

Retro fit Memorial stadium, it can seat 20k right now. Little by little add to that venue and build up around there. Be cool to see and would be a nice corner compliment to the other side of uptown with sports.

Did you catch the Liverpool/Roma game or the US Women's/France Women's games earlier today?

Bradley really played well for Roma and knocked in a nice goal as Roma won 2-1

Alex Morgan notched two goals for Team USA as they came back from a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2.

The Women's Olympic game was great. I got a chance to see it yesterday afternoon. I am in Glasgow this week on business. I did not even know they were playing their first game in Glasgow before the opening ceremonies.

Someone mentioned it yesterday morning in the office here and we went over and got tix.

Pretty cool experience.

That or...Instead of the Knights moving uptown put a MLS stadium there...It needs to happen in Charlotte, but I can deff see Raleigh getting the franchise.

It would be tough to use memorial stadium bc the Charlotte Hounds(MLL) would be using it at the same time. Possible, but just tougher to work out.

Hopefully ManU can get Lucas Moura in the transfer market. They need something or someone to stay competitive.

Moura would be huge because Giggs and Scholes are really old and Carrick and Fletcher are getting up there as well.

A group of Moura, Anderson, Cleverly, and Shinji Kagawa would be a good crew to have for the future.

Yeh, Lucas would be a great signing for the team, but they are gonna need more than him. You are right about the midfield, Giggs and Scholes are ancient, Carrick is on the wrong side of 30 and while Fletch is still only 28 I think, he can't shake this bowel issue, and there is a possibility that he will not play again. Anderson can't stay healthy either, leaving a very small group for your center midfield. And what is worse is that United 2 best prospects, Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba, are both gone. Two guys that would have helped solidify that midfield for years to come. I am hopeful that they can sign RVP, even though it does not fill an immediate need, seeing as they already have Rooney, Welbeck, Chicharito and Berbatov(you would have to assume Berba would be gone if RVP came in.) United need to bring in a top notch central midfielder, to go along with the 2 attacking midfielders they could end up with(Kagawa and Lucas). Modric would be good, I would like them to take a look at Marek Hamsik as well. I hope they dont waste money on Leighton Baines, but thats just my opinion.

Glazers are cheap as hell. I doubt they will spend a lot this off season. Its more and more likely that RVP will join Juve .

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1126275/sir-alex-ferguson:-glazers-have-never-stopped-man-utd-spending?cc=5901

Sir Alex Ferguson has defended the tenure of Manchester United owners the Glazer family, insisting that he has never been prevented from signing a player by them.

Fergie confirmed the team made a bid for RVP, rumored to be around £15 Million. Cornfirmed bid has been made for Lucas Moura as well, last I heard the bid was £29 Million(Rejected). Paid £6 Million for Nick Powell and £15 Million for Shinji Kagawa. Its fairly clear that they are letting him splash the cash. Allegedly bid £8 Million for Leighton Baines but that hasn't been confirmed by anyone of note.

Juventus could abandon their attempts to sign Robin van Persie if the issue is not resolved quickly and instead turn their attentions to Manchester City’s Edin Djeko, the Mirror says.

From this morning's Daily Mirror.

Djeko will cost way more than RVP and probably out of Juve price range but if City does sell Djeko it will be because they will buy RVP so either way, it looks like Man U will miss out on RVP. RVP reported that he wishes to join Juve...

Also, Glazers r crazy in debt with Man U. poo is gonna get real sooner or later.
