Ryan Kalil: We Will Win SB XLVII

Danny Morrison said he liked it.

At first I thought it was bad but then I thought about it and realized it has no bearing on anything whatsoever. It's fun and shows they are excited too. If Rivera can't answer questions about something like this he has no business being a head coach and I'm sure he'd rather talk about this than the forced autograph scandal or Neblett getting suspended.

Wonder how Ron Rivera will feel about having to answer questions about this

Could you imagine if John Fox was still the coach? His head would have exploded.

I have no problem with what Kalil did. I wish more pro athletes cared enough to take out a full page ad to pump up the fans.

I hate it when players make these kind of predictions, but atleast he didn't call us the "dream team"

This post has been promoted to an article

Yes, because a back up QB calling mentioning that his team's roster is like the Dream Team after all the high profile acquisitions in the off season is so much worse than taking out a full page ad in the news paper guaranteeing a SB.

The difference between this guarantee and others, and why this one feels more ok than others is simple... Most boasts and guarantees come from people you expect to hear it from... I expect to hear it vocally from Beason... He's a vocal leader... Same with Cam, he's a vocal leader... Kalil is a quiet, lead by example individual... For him to come out like this, is out of character for him... And it makes it root a little deeper with fans, media, and (hopefully) his teammates...

Do I believe the Panthers will win the Super Bowl? I'd just as soon predict where the next bolt of lightning will strike...

Do I believe the Panthers CAN win the Super Bowl? Absolutely...

As I look across this team, this is perhaps the most solid lineup we've had in nearly a decade... And I can honestly say I share Kalil's optimism and enthusiasm... I do personally believe, that the Carolina Panthers have arrived...

And that's just the way I see it...

Fug it....I threw down $50 on the Panthers to win the SB at 40:1 odds in Vegas a couple months ago. I'll sell my soul for $2K if the Iggles are out of it ....Lord knows it's not worth nearly that much.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
