Need a Concrete Engineer

Why would you say that he should get out of the contract or question the build? The builder is doing the correct thing by paying to have it tested. Raining after the concrete was poured was beyond his control.

Now, if he refused to have it tested I would say you might have an issue. Or, if an issue comes from the inspection and the builder refuses to correct it.

Unless....you thought the pictures were actually of his concrete.

If the builder was doing the right thing, they should have been prepared to cover the slab in the event of rain.

After reading all the things that have gone on during this build I would not feel comfortable moving into that house. It is a huge investment/loan to undertake if you have doubts in your mind.

I had not read about all of the other things that you referred to. I thought your comment was just based on this situation.

The broker is a jackass. I had many issues directly with a broker so I had enough and got in touch with his boss. His boss is more than willing to cooperate with us. They also extended our closing date and promised to break out building of our house into stages. We told em we gonna walk if they rush our house so they taking a different approach right now. The closing date was moved from September to November.

Fuzz, in what field do you have your engineering degree? I spoke to an engineer that designs, examines, and repairs concrete. He said it can be pretty bad and definitely a reason to be concerned. On this one, ill side with an engineer and not a salesman.

Don't have one, that's why I said to go hire one if it is bothering you.

I have to talk folks off of ledges every day in this field, all I am trying to tell you is that what you are seeing and doing is normal. Overkill but normal.

The only thing that is not normal was the beer bottles.

IIRC your issues have been.

Delayed Start.

Beer Bottles.

Rain.

Honestly I am not trying to be a smartass here, but man, what you are experiencing is not that big of a deal.
