He kind of alluded to it on a recent AOW podcast. He had a dark match with Barrett last year that was supposed to lead to more but it never did. My guess is WWE wanted him to end AOW and coltmerch but he didn't want to. Cabana has his own niche on the indies now and I don't think he really wants to lose that. If that's the case, I sort of agree with him. He's got his own hustle and is doing it all himself. I don't think another stint in the E would really help him that much, especially considering he would probably be misused again.

Colt has said that he's sure he could get a job in WWE or TNA if he wanted but he's happy doing what he does now. I don't really blame him, he's currently the NWA world champion and if he went to the WWE he'd just be another Zack Ryder.

I doubt that. He's got a friend in a very high place now.

True. I don't think he'd be Zack Ryder, but he likely wouldn't get past mid-card status regardless. He's just not the type of talent that gets over on that level with the mainstream WWE audience.

John Cena and CM Punk were both pushing Zack Ryder and he never really went anywhere. Chances are Colt would be the same way.

Zack was going places and then they put him in that terrible feud with Kane and Eve.

well zacks problem is he has a horrible fuging gimmick that deserves to stay on mid card status.

Comedy is never the main event. That's what limits Zach Ryder to a degree; he hasn't shown he can be a serious performer and get over the same way his comedy does. Colt Cabana would run into the same problem.
