At the end of the day did we get better in light of the trades?

Well let's see here.

We traded up with Philly and gave them our 2009 first for Otah. Sitting right there would have been Hakeem Nicks and Kenny Britt.

Compounding the issue was Hurneys major gaffe in giving up a first in 2010 to be able to move up to select none other than Everette Brown. Panic pick because we didn't have a 1st rounder, and Marty was playing chicken with Peppers. That pick was the number 17 in 2010.

Had we not mortgaged the future on Otah, EB may have never been drafted, or maybe Hurney would be stupid enough to draft him in the 1st that following year.

Not looking back one day, yes we are probably a little better, but we seem to still have a bit of a habit of trading future picks. This has been a concern of mine with Hurney for years.
