Not a homer, but for the 2012 season Otah was dirt cheap and would have given us Pro Bowl caliber play if he could of stepped on the field. Don't like the trade. Now we have garbage at RT.

Trading away OL depth ain't good no matter how it is spun. We got a franchise QB and RBs. Bell could of got Cam killed last year and now he is the top dawg.

these moves have nothing to do with Stewart. We needed/ wanted another receiving threat as evidenced by us trying to sign jacoby jones earlier. Most likely would have let Otah walk for nothing next year or possibly could have even reached a boiling point and cut him this year

I feel sorry for the poor Jets fans reading this thread right now, trying to gauge our opinion of Otah. :lol:

As long as this trade was for at least a 4th, hopefully a 3rd or higher, I think it was a smart move on our part. Best to get something out of a bust 1st round pick than nothing.

He was an excellent offensive lineman in '08 and '09. Shame he couldn't stay healthy. But it isn't like Hurney picked a scrub. Stuff happens. Otah got hurt. What is Hurney going to do about that?

To Hurney's credit, this is his only 1st round bust. So everyone that's acting like an Asshole saying, "hurney magic" and all that can jump off a cliff.

Compared to other GM's he's been very consistent with the 1st round picks..Which you would want to begin with.

In regards to the excuse of "inability to foresee chronic issues," it was Otah's lack of effort to try and rehab and get better. This should have happened last year. Hurney gets thrown in the dog house for the lack of character judgement, trading up for this guy, and holding on to him for too long.

Hurney's working to right the wrongs though going back to last year and for the most part he's made forward progress.
